Maurice Jones-Drew's days with the Jacksonville Jaguars might not be limited to just 10 more games as many have speculated. According to Michael DiRocco of ESPN the team is "interested in bringing Jones-Drew back as long as it's not for big money." Now the question that bears asking is: What exactly is "big money"? The biggest money Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell has decided to dish out was a two-year $4.5 million deal to defensive tackle Roy Miller. That's probably not going to cut it for a three-time Pro Bowl running back regardless of his lackluster production in 2013 after he concludes the five-year $31 million deal he signed in 2009. The Jaguars and Jones-Drew didn't see eye-to-eye on his value just a year ago when he held out for the entire 2012 offseason in the hopes of receiving a new contract. While that was a different front office in charge of the franchise a season-ending foot injury in 2012 and poor production in 2013 haven&#...

Jags seek their first win against the Chargers

If I didn’t know any better, I would have guessed the Jacksonville Jaguars would have won last week against the Denver Broncos. Of course that is not the case, but listening to talk radio and the excellent reviews that the all-hallowed ESPN gave them, you would have thought that they might have pulled out a squeaker. There were some good things happening to be sure, and watching...

Week 7 Fantasy Football Injury Report: Cecil Shorts

Jacksonville Jaguars wideout Cecil Shorts is dealing with a very painful sprained sternoclavicular (SC) joint, which is leaving his status for Week 7 as a game time decision. Shorts has been dealing with significant pain all week, even needing help putting on his jersey and not being able to sleep due to the severe pain. Shorts remains confident that he will play on Sunday, so...

There’s ‘no question’ Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon seems better

Despite missing Friday’s practice, Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon said there’s “no question” he will play Sunday when Jacksonville hosts the San Diego Chargers. The 23-year-old Blackmon has been bothered by a nagging hamstring injury. Suspended four games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy in April, Blackmon’s already caught 19 balls for 326 yards...

Blaine Gabbert returns to practice but not ready for field

Jaguars Injury Report: Justin Blackmon, Blaine Gabbert, Cecil Shorts

The Jacksonville Jaguars host the San Diego Chargers this Sunday and may be without a few key players. Chad Henne will get the start again at quarterback with Blaine Gabbert already ruled out because of a hamstring injury. But the Jaguars may also be without their two starting wide receivers, Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts. Both Blackmon and Shorts will be game-time decisions...

Cecil Shorts a game-time decision on Sunday for Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Jacksonville wide receiver Cecil Shorts will likely be a game-time decision whether he'll play Sunday in the Jaguars' home game against the San Diego Chargers. Shorts sprained the joint connecting the breastbone and collarbone Sunday at Denver and did not return. Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said Shorts practiced on a limited basis Thursday, but may...

Jaguars’ Cecil Shorts Game-Time Decision

The Jacksonville Jaguars have the worst offense in the NFL this year, averaging only 11.7 points per game. That simply will not get the job done. Their offensive woes will continue this week against an underrated San Diego defense, as they are now facing the possibility of playing without their leading wide receiver, Cecil Shorts. The third-year wide out is having a standout year...

Jaguars’ Justin Blackmon Expected to Play Sunday

The Jacksonville Jaguars are having a season to forget. The Jags are 0-6 thus far in 2013, and it is hard-pressed to think they’ll win more than one game (if that) this year. The wide receiver position has been decimated of late, with the team’s leading receiver, Cecil Shorts, suffering a sprain in his SC joint in his right shoulder. Shorts was seen showing a full-range of motion...

Jaguars News and Notes: Blackmon, Shorts Expected to Play; Sanders Ruled Out

The Jaguars Cecil Shorts might be listed as “questionable” by head coach Gus Bradley, but the team’s leading receiver seems to think he will be ready for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.“Shorts, whose status for Sunday has been in doubt all week because of a sprained SC (shoulder) joint, worked on a limited basis Friday as the Jaguars went through their last...

San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars: 2013 Week 7 NFL Pick

San Diego Chargers (3-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (0-6) What an accomplishment for the Jacksonville Jaguars! They covered the spread last week for the first time and this season, only losing to the Broncos by a mere 16 points. In all seriousness, the Jaguars could be kind of flat after putting everything they had into that game and coming up short. Now they return home to face the...

Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 Keys to a Win over San Deigo

With a possibility of the return of Marcedes Lewis in the near future and a defense that looks like it may have turned a very small corner last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars go into Sunday’s game with a touch of confidence - more so than it has had at anyone one time this season. There are no “moral wins” in football and reaching double digits in points and tightening up on...
