US-PresswireThe Jacksonville Jaguars are trying to promote winning and family all at the same time.

USA Today is reporting that the Jaguars will honor Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross during their home opener against the Houston Texans this Sunday.

Sanya is the wife of cornerback Aaron Ross, who the Jaguars signed as a free agent this past off-season.

The organization pulled out all the stop for the Ross family this summer. They allowed Aaron to miss some time at training camp so he could watch his wife compete in person. They also watch Sonya compete as a team on the stadium scoreboard.

Richards-Ross was very moved by the gesture.

“I’m looking forward to finally coming to my new home in Jacksonville. The way Aaron and I have been embraced by the Jaguars organization and the community is unlike anything we have ever seen. I can’t wait to thank all the fans for their amazing support during my journey in London. Sunday will be my first Jaguars game but not my last.”

Her winning ways may rub off.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Week 2 NFL Power Rankings (#28)

Last week: 32 (+4) Record: 0-1 Jacksonville moves up despite the loss because Blaine Gabbert showed some signs of life in his 2nd season debut, completing 23 of 39 for 260 yards, 2 touchdown, and no interceptions.
