Jaguars To Promote DT Corvey Irvin To Active Roster

The Jacksonville Jaguars have promoted defensive tackle Corvey Irvin to the 53-man roster, Mark Long of The Associated Press reports. A third-round pick out of Georgia by the Carolina Panthers in 2009, Irvin spent his rookie season injured reserve and made four tackles in two games last season. Waived by the Panthers in September, Irvin spent six weeks on the Detroit Lions' practice squad before joining the Jaguars practice squad in October. Who was waived or placed on injured reserve to make room for Irvin is unknown, but Long adds the Jaguars will sign Charly Martin to the practice squad.
