This really is an important game. There are roster spots to be won, depth to be filled and a chance for “fringe” players to make a lasting impression.Welcome to the Jaguars edition of “Football Players Have Talent.”The Jaguars in all likelihood will not win a preseason contest this year, however in their first year together, head coach Gus Bradley and team general manager David Caldwell are more concerned about player evaluation, finding missing pieces on both offense and defense and players “doing their job.”The wins and losses will come later. To say Bradley is a fan of “competition” would be an understatement. It is something he preaches like a southern minister everyday in camp and afterwards at his press conferences. That competition will build a winner for this franchise.Yes, things will get better. But tonight is about searching for the final puzzle pieces before final cuts are made and players leave the church they have been attending all summer. Here are some things of interest for tonight’s game…Who’s on third for the Jaguars?Chad Henne will get a handful of snaps tonight. It will then be handed over to Mike Kafka and Adam Scott to fight for the third quarterback spot. Neither has distinguished themselves this offseason.Personally, I think Scott stays. He is way too talented to let go right now and maybe there is a place for him on the practice squad.Depth everywhereThere is not enough depth on this team - as evident in each of the three losses so far. Depth could have led to a win against Philadelphia. How will Bradley and the coaching staff find nine solid defensive linemen that can stop the run and rush the passer?Jordan TodmanHe ran for over 100 yards last week, but there is more of him to be seen. I think that there is an underlying theme here in Jacksonville about the running backs. I still think Justin Forsett makes this franchise despite injuries. Will Todman show enough to warrant a roster spot?Andre Branch and othersFinal chance to make a lasting impression. He had a sack last week and looked more involved, but there is the opportunity for others to make that same mark. The Jaguars invested too much in him to make this kind of mistake. He needs a solid night to stick around and have an impact.
