Like Adalius Thomas, safety James Sanders found himself unhappily on the bench last season. Unlike Thomas, Sanders didn’t publicly complain about his lot in life. Instead, he kept to himself, and just worked harder, preparing for his next chance. Sanders spoke to the media a short time ago, and discussed his rocky 2009 season, and what 2010 may hold. He also believes with himself, Brandon Meriweather, Brandon McGowan, and Patrick Chung, the Pats have “probably deepest group (of safeties) we’ve had since I’ve been here, even when Rodney (Harrison) was here. We have some capable players. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens.” Sanders, who started just 5 of the 16 regular season games, replaced in Week 2 by McGowan before getting his starting job back in Week 14, spoke at length about the trials of last year, and the expections going forward.
