Either Janoris Jenkins was really good on Sunday, or the Cardinals’ quarterback situation has reached an all-time low. It looked like it was actually a little bit of both. The Rams’ rookie cornerback intercepted Cardinals rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley twice, and he took both picks back for touchdowns. The first appeared to be a good read by Jenkins — jumping LaRod Stephens-Howling‘s route before Lindley’s throw could get to the running back. Jenkins is the fourth rookie to score two touchdowns in one game off interceptions. The second pick six was just a bad throw by Lindley, who undershot Larry Fitzgerald with a throw off his back foot. Lindley is the third quarterback the Cardinals have tried this season after Kevin Kolb and John Skelton. Kolb is out with rib and shoulder injuries sustained during Arizona’s Week 6 loss to the Bills. Of course, injuries will happen when you have the worst offensive line in the NFL. Jenkins has had an up and down season, which included a suspension from the Rams’ Week 10 tie with the 49ers for breaking team rules. On the field, he’s been mostly solid, but has incurred the typical rookie mistakes. Jenkins was a second-round pick out of North Alabama. He likely would have been a higher pick without multiple college arrests that eventually got him booted from the University of Florida. Watch Jenkins’ two defensive touchdowns in the GIFs below.
