In a 28-10 loss to the Chicago Bears, on a Antoine Winfield interception return Vikings defensive end Jared Allen drew a penalty on a block to Bears guard Lance Louis which resulted in an ACL injury. Allen was fined $21,000 for the hit, but some think the Bears will target him in attempt to get some payback for Louis in their next meeting. Allen isn't one of them, he feels it's part of the game and that the Bears know that as well. Allen and the Vikings face the Bears next week and there is some concern that he could be a target. Allen talked about it via Brad Briggs of Chicago Tribune about the issue. "You never want to end anybody’s knee," "So I don’t expect any (retribution). If they do, hey, it is what it is." "I mean, just making a block on an interception. Like I said before, never an intention to hurt a guy," Allen said. "I feel bad that he got hurt. It’s obviously never my intention. But you know, ‘Toine’s coming up the sideline, he...

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Leslie Frazier knows the limitations of his 6-6 Minnesota Vikings very well. Twelve games into the season and clinging to fading playoff hopes, Frazier knows there is no savior that is going to appear magically to rescue Minnesota's last-ranked passing offense.
"It's not like at this time of the season somebody's going to drop a special guy...

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The Minnesota Vikings are feeling the sting of two straight key losses on the road in the NFC North, but at least Sunday didn't add injury to the insult.
Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier said Monday that he didn't have any new news to add regarding injured receiver Percy Harvin, who missed his third straight game Sunday, a 23-14 loss at Green Bay. Frazier...
Eric Dickerson. Jim Brown. Barry Sanders. Earl Campbell. Edgerrin James. Before Sunday, this was the collection of youngest NFL players to rush for 8,000 yards in their career. That's pretty good company. REAL damn good company. Green Bay couldn't even have a wet dream to an NFL running back like that. But you know what? The Vikings could, and the Vikings...
The Vikings passing offense was anemic and Christian Ponder’s inability to get anything going was the culprit. We examine the struggles and statistics that show how bad it was.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- For the Minnesota Vikings (6-5) to make the playoffs this season, they'll need to win at least one of their two upcoming games with the division-rival Packers (7-4). The first of those two NFC North showdowns is Sunday at Lambeau Field, with both teams' regular-season schedules concluding four weeks later in Minnesota.
"I want to go ahead and control...
Despite another poor outing from Christian Ponder, he will remain the Vikings’ starter, Leslie Frazier confirmed.
GREEN BAY, Wis. Assessing the Packers' defensive performance in their 23-14 win over the Minnesota Vikings depends greatly on how a team values each statistical category. Allowing 210 rushing yards to Adrian Peterson is about as bad as it gets, but with that production being coupled with only 119 passing yards, while giving up just 14 points and forcing two key interceptions...
Aaron Rodgers was aided by a good running game while the Vikings had nothing but Adrian Peterson. With the Packers pitching a second-half shutout, they beat the Vikings 23-14 and stayed right in the heart of the playoff race.
Fox Sports reporter Jay Glazer has reported that Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen has a torn labrum in his shoulder that will require surgery. The difference between Allen and your average spoiled NFL diva is that Allen has been playing with the injury the entire season and although his sack totals are down he [...]
