In a 28-10 loss to the Chicago Bears, on a Antoine Winfield interception return Vikings defensive end Jared Allen drew a penalty on a block to Bears guard Lance Louis which resulted in an ACL injury. Allen was fined $21,000 for the hit, but some think the Bears will target him in attempt to get some payback for Louis in their next meeting. Allen isn't one of them, he feels it's part of the game and that the Bears know that as well. Allen and the Vikings face the Bears next week and there is some concern that he could be a target. Allen talked about it via Brad Briggs of Chicago Tribune about the issue. "You never want to end anybody’s knee," "So I don’t expect any (retribution). If they do, hey, it is what it is." "I mean, just making a block on an interception. Like I said before, never an intention to hurt a guy," Allen said. "I feel bad that he got hurt. It’s obviously never my intention. But you know, ‘Toine’s coming up the sideline, he’s running to make a play and you block the guy and sometimes bad things happen." "My opinion is that if it was a defensive player and an offensive player was blocking for a running back coming to the sideline, we probably wouldn’t be having this conversation," he said. "But it is what it is. They fined me for it. They view it illegal. So you move on from it. But like I said, there was no ill intent in it." "This game is violent," Allen said. "I’ve had that. I’ve been on the other side of that. I got my knee knifed in Detroit a few years ago (on a hit by Lions tackle Gosder Cherlius). The league didn’t find anything wrong with that. But it happens. You’re not happy about it. I’m sure he’s not happy. Like I said, nobody’s happy that somebody gets hurt, especially if it’s season-ending. But that’s never my intent. You’re just trying to make a play."       var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
