Cincinnati offensive coordinator Jay Guden has emerged as a top candidate for the Philadelphia Eagles head coaching vacancy, according to reports. The Eagles are expected to seek permission from the Bengals to interview Gruden, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting. Eagles expected to request permission from Bengals on Monday to interview Cuncinnati OC Jay Gruden for their HC job, per league source. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 5, 2013 Jay is the younger brother of former coach and Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden, and as the Bengals' OC for two years, was an integral part in QB Andy Dalton's growth and success. Prior to the Bengals, he spent six years as an assistant to Jon in Tampa Bay. John also has head coaching experience... in the Arena Football League, 10 seasons in fact, as well actually playing the game as QB for the league. So it looks like the ball is in Cincy's court on the whole permission thing. Philadelphia plans to ask on Monday according to the report, which furthers the prevailing thought that the Eagles aren't in much of a rush to fill the position.
