In order to prepare his team for this week’s match up against the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher had one of his practice squad players wear a blonde wig to represent Packers linebacker Clay Matthews Jr.
NFL coaches are funny when it comes to how they operate their respective teams. It looks like Fisher for this upcoming game wanted to simulate the Packers defense the best he could to help his team prepare. That’s certainly understandable.
BEST OF MAXIM
GREEN BAY, Wis. Clay Matthews has plenty of admirers. Packers fans have been imitating the star outside linebacker's post-sack celebrations ever since Matthews burst into the NFL as a first-round pick in 2009.
Now, there may officially be a winner for best impersonation.
Matthews recently tweeted out the above picture along with the question: "Whose child is this??"...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- One day of limited participation at practice was enough for Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After admitting Wednesday that the calf injury he suffered in the Week 6 win over the Houston Texans was still "a little tight," Rodgers was feeling better Thursday as he took part in every phase of Green Bay's practice."He's been getting a lot...
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was able to
return to practice this week and will suit up this weekend against the St.
Louis Rams, but four other starters will not play. The Packers will be without
defensive tackle B.J. Raji, cornerback Sam Shields, linebacker Nick Perry and
wide receiver Greg Jennings, reports ESPN Wisconsin.

GREEN BAY, Wis. A matchup with the St. Louis Rams is not an easy win like it had been in recent years. The Rams were one of the NFL's worst teams, winning only 15 games over the past five seasons combined. That is, of course, as many games as the Packers won just last year alone. But with St. Louis handing the team over to new head coach Jeff Fisher, the Rams have the same record...
(Eds: With AP Photos.) The Green Bay Packers are about to find out if their defense truly is deeper than it was last season.
The Packers ranked dead last in the NFL in yards allowed in 2011, prompting general manager Ted Thompson to use his first six draft picks on defensive players and add two more rookie defenders via free agency.
Some of those rookies, along with several holdovers...
The St. Louis Rams are hosting the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, and Rams head coach Jeff Fisher is using an interesting plan to get his team prepared for the game.
In order to get his offense acclimated to playing against Pro Bowl linebacker Clay Matthews, he had practice squad linebacker Sammy Brown wear a blond wig during practice.
“I thought it was pretty cool,” defensive...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Next man up. It's not a new idea in the NFL and it's one that the Packers are once again becoming quite familiar with as their injury report continues to grow. But in Green Bay this season, the next man up at many positions is arguably just as good as -- if not better than -- the player he's replacing. The depth on the Packers' roster, as put together...
Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson are the nationally known stars but James Jones and Randall Cobb are having big years. Without them, the up-and-down Packers might be in big trouble.
The St. Louis Rams defense is good. It is really a good. I mean a top 10 defense in the NFL good. Actually, they are 7th in total defense in the National Football League.
The Rams defense is so good this season partly because our defensive picks in the draft the last few years has been stellar. With picks like Chris Long, Robert Quinn, Janoris Jenkins, and James Laurinaitis...
Hot News for QB Green Bay Packers
According to Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com, during the 1996 NFL playoffs, the late great Reggie White made a deal with his teammates that he’ll give $500 to whoever makes a big hit.“In its latest filing in the bounty case, a copy of which PFT has obtained, the NFLPA says that the NFL knew White was paying teammates for hits and allowed it to continue, and therefore...
The Bears unleash their top rated defense against the Lions on Monday night while the Packers look to keep rolling against the St. Louis Rams.
