Last season, the St. Louis Rams secondary was literally full of the walking wounded. Ten Rams cornerbacks found their way to the injured reserve list and the Rams defense felt the effects.
With new head coach Jeff Fisher in charge, the cornerback position has been addressed and Fisher told dnj.com that he thinks that it could be a strength of the Rams team in 2012.
“It was difficult last year because of the injuries. But now it’s going to be a strength for us because of Cortland, Janoris, Trumaine and the rest of the guys. It’s going to be very, very competitive.”
The Rams brought in Cortland Finnegan, whom Fisher coached during his time in Tennessee, to solidify the secondary and bring a bit of toughness to a Rams defense that was second to last in the league in rushing yards allowed.
