CLEVELAND - NOVEMBER 14: Owner Woody Johnson of the New York Jets talks with general manager Mike Holmgren of the Cleveland Browns prior to the start of their game at Cleveland Browns Stadium on November 14, 2010 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo by Matt Sullivan/Getty Images)
Cleveland did everything to give Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but Jerry Jones didn’t give away any info at all regarding the growing Mike Holmgren speculation. However, with Holmgren in Dallas to watch his Browns take on America’s team, the two spent time as they always do when their worlds cross. Jason Garrett may have bought himself a little more time in the victory, but the ever growing shadow of Holmgren is looming. Jones needs a legitimate Super Bowl contender, or a marquee coach to fill the seats in his billion dollar stadium. Either way, it makes for good sports drama at its finest -  a coach sweating for his job, an aggressive owner who doesn’t mind making waves, and an all time great coach itching to get back in the game. It doesn’t get better than that. Jones had this to say about the time spent with Holmgren yesterday. “Well, we had the visit that we always have when he comes, when I come to where he is. We’re good friends", Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. "We served for about seven or eight years on the Competition Committee together,” “We visited about all the things that we normal visit about. He’s a really, apart from being an outstanding coach, he’s a heck of a man. He’s got a lot of character and I can’t tell you how much I respect him. When you’re close like that and spend a lot of time with somebody, familiarity can breed contempt. It’s just the opposite with him. Every time I’ve been around him he’s gone up.” var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
