Rich Cimini of ESPN New York writes that Jets CB Kyle Wilson could be the next guy on the hot seat now that they have signed Dimitri Patterson and Johnny Patrick in recent weeks. According to Cimini, there has been speculation in league circles that Wilson could be on the chopping block. However, Cimini believes this talk could be a little premature and will likely come down to what the Jets elect to do in free agency. Wilson, 26, was taken with the No. 29 overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Jets. While hasn’t missed a game in his four-year career, he has yet to live up to his draft status. Cimini points out that Wilson has registered only six impact plays over the course of career. Last year, he totaled 26 tackles and two pass defense and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 77 cornerback in the league. Wilson is set to make $1.065 million for the 2014 season and will count $2,387,400 against the Jets’ salary cap. Releasing Wilson would free up $1.29 million in cap sp...

The Michael Vick Effect: New York Jets Running Backs

When Michael Vick signed with the New York Jets, my first move was to pat myself on the back for making an aggressive Eric Decker projection the week before. Unfortunately, my second move was to do some light statistical research. For his career, Vick is the owner of a 56.2% completion percentage, which actually makes it fair to wonder just how much of an upgrade the Jets (and their...
