For the second time in the past month, a Jets player has stuck up for Mark Sanchez by calling out the fans.

Following the Jets' embarrassing 49-19 loss to the Patriots on Thanksgiving night, tight end Dustin Keller took to Twitter to call out those in the MetLife Stadium crowd who cheered when Sanchez went down due to injury.

Late in the fourth quarter, with the game well out of reach and chants for Tim Tebow in full effect, Sanchez dropped back to pass and was hit hard by a Pats defender.

Before he gingerly scraped himself off the turf and limped back to the huddle, disgusted Jets fans -- those who stuck around, at least -- and staunch Tebow supporters reigned down a round of sarcastic applause.

It was another shaky outing by the incumbent quarterback, who threw an awful interception and lost a fumble after hilariously crashing into the backside of his offensive lineman. Seriously.

However, cheering a potential injury, under any circumstance, reeks of classlessness. In that respect, Keller is absolutely correct in airing his displeasure.

Then again, Jets Nation isn't known to be the most sympathetic or well-collected bunch; the same type of incident happened in 2007, when then-starter Chad Pennington severely hurt his ankle.

Coach Rex Ryan already has declared Sanchez the starting QB for next week's home tilt with the Cardinals. And with Tebow seemingly out of commission, fans will have no choice but to endure another 60 minutes of Sanchez.

Hopefully, for his sake, he stays upright.
