You can't make this stuff up. The circus in the Big Apple keeps growing as it seems the New York Jets will never learn their lesson. The Tim Tebow experiment failed miserably, and while the Jets brain trust ponders what to do with the badly regressed Mark Sanchez, we get this quote from Conor Orr of The Star-Ledger: " More recently, after Tannenbaum was let go, members of the organization had some very exploratory, informal discussions regarding former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell, the 2007 No. 1 overall pick who flamed out of the NFL after the 2009 season. Russell recently decided to mount a comeback in hopes of returning to the league next season. " Russell, as you've likely hear by now, is attempting an NFL comeback. An easy top fiver for biggest draft bust ever is big in an entirely different way these days, weighing in at a whopping 308 pounds. (check out his workout regiment >) We got that little tidbit on the Jets from none other than their new GM John Idzik, who spoke to WFAN Monday morning. What he said about Mark Sanchez: "Yeah, I’m comfortable with Mark being a Jet... I told him as well, we’re going to add competition. ... It’s going to help make Mark and everybody else better." If Russell is the competition he's talking about, then expect another dismal year for Gang Green. var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
