The New York Jets placed their franchise tag on David Harris, making the LB eligible for a one-year payday of around $10 million.

One of the “core four” players (Darrelle Revis, Nick Mangold and D’Brickashaw Ferguson, the others), GM Mike Tannenbaum said re-signing Harris was a priority.

A second round pick out of Michigan in 2007, Harris was voted the team’s MVP this season by his teammates, after providing 99 tackles and three sacks in his fourth season with the Jets.
