NFL Injury Report:
The on again off again relationship between New York Jets
wide receiver, Santonio Holmes, and when he plays during the 2013 regular
season appears to be back on again. On
the other hand, is it?
Walder of the New York Daily News reports that Holmes, who is rehabbing a
Lisfranc injury, looked very good in practice on Monday and teammate, Stephen
Hill, thinks Holmes will be ready to go Week 1.
Holmes, who continues to portray his recovery process as dreary,
told reporters, “looks can be deceiving,” in describing his practice play. Holmes is a master media manipulator and it
would not surprise me if he were setting the stage for a Week 1 let down.
Holmes has created a tough situation for himself (I do not
add the Jets in this because Holmes is a “me” person) this season. He continues to practice well and looks
healthy and instead of taking this opportunity to work as if he could become
comeback player of the year, he continues to be downtrodden in the media about
his visible progress.
Holmes is a talented player when he wants to be. I just wish he would get a new girl to latch
onto for the 2013 NFL season.
In other ho-hum Jets’ news, the New York Jets have signed
journeyman quarterback, Brady Quinn. New
York Jets QB Mark Sanchez’s stock has bottomed out and his relationship with
all things Jets has wet the bed.
Sanchez’s shoulder injury be more serious than expected? Follow me later in the week for my Jets’
injury report to find out.

Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes was limited at practice and uncertain if he will play in New York's season opener against Tampa Bay as he recovers from a foot injury that sidelined him most of last season.
Holmes says Wednesday that ''I still don't know'' if he'll be ready to go Sunday, but adds that he feels ''pretty good'' about his...
The New York Jets really have their hands full heading into the upcoming 2013 NFL regular season. It’s not really a question of whether head coach Rex Ryan will be fired, but when. The Jets entered the 2013 NFL Draft needing to find an immediate starter in the secondary, improve in the trenches on both sides of the ball and try to land a guy who could lead the team and compete...

The Browns are bringing in Pro Bowl kickers Dan Carpenter and Billy Cundiff for tryouts on Tuesday.
After terminating veteran Shayne Graham's contract and releasing rookie Brandon Bogotay over the weekend, the Browns don't have a kicker less than one week before their opener against Miami.
Carpenter was released by Miami, Arizona and the New York Jets last month.
Manish Mehta writes, "Rex Ryan opts to attend his son's football game at Clemson instead of staying with the Jets on cutdown day. While veteran Antonio Cromartie supports him, one annonymous [sic] source says it is a 'big F.U.' to the players."
Jets fans took to the NY Daily News' comment section. And the sampling didn't even include mocking the spelling...
In a move that shouldn’t shock the world, the New York Jets have announced rookie Geno Smith will get the starting nod over veteran Mark Sanchez in week one as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Smith has been dealing with an ankle injury and the team moved to sign former Green Bay Packers QB Graham Harrell shortly after the rookie suffered his injury. Harrell was released and...
The Jets did what they had to do this week and what they probably needed to do all along.
The team announced that rookie quarterback Geno Smith would start this week which was kind of obvious given the condition of Mark Sanchez’s shoulder — unless Brady Quinn was going to make a late run at the job.
The anticlimactic nature of the announcement doesn’t hide the fact this is...
TAMPA, Fla. -- Darrelle Revis wants Geno Smith to know that it might be a wise idea to study him.
The four-time Pro Bowl cornerback will make his return to MetLife Stadium on Sunday as part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Smith, the New York Jets rookie quarterback, seems to have taken a loose approach to this fact.
When asked recently whether he had watched old Jets tape of Revis...

After releasing the immortal Graham Harrell, the New York Jets signed substandard field general Brady Quinn on Monday. Clipped by the Seattle Seahawks last weekend, the 28-year-old Quinn is guaranteed to earn at least the veteran’s minimum of $715,000 if he’s still a Jet on Saturday. Taken out of Notre Dame by the Cleveland Browns 22nd overall in 2007, the journeyman has now...
Mark Sanchez started his career strong, leading his Jets’ to back-to-back AFC Championship games, but has strung together back-to-back sub-par seasons. His latest struggles have resulted in drafting of a new quarterback in Geno Smith for the future. Now that Gang Green has added a new veteran QB in Brady Quinn, has Sanchez’s future in New York come to an end?
With only one day left until the beginning of the NFL season, teams are putting the finishing touches on their starting lineups. EJ Manuel of the Buffalo Bills and Geno Smith of the New York Jets were both named starting quarterbacks. Manuel and Smith were the first two quarterbacks taken in the 2013 NFL Draft. The both of them were put in very similar situations. They both had...
BY NICK ST. DENISDarrelle Revis and Dee Milliner won't actually be going head-to-head with one another Sunday when Revis's Tampa Bay Buccaneers face Milliner's New York Jets. They might as well be.The Jets traded the All-World but All-Money cornerback Revis to the Bucs this offseason in exchange for a first-round draft pick (No. 13 overall), which was used on defensive...
