The New York Jets are going back to push-ups for penalties.
Whenever a player commits an infraction on the practice field, everyone - from coach Rex Ryan to owner Woody Johnson - needs to drop and give `em 10.
Coming off setting a dubious team record with 20 penalties in the Jets' 27-20 victory over Buffalo on Sunday, Ryan says the push-ups are one way to make players accountable for mistakes. He tried the same thing in 2010 when penalties were a problem, and the team improved.
Ryan jokes, however, that the Jets ''don't want to look like Jack LaLanne.''
Despite two ugly wins, rookie quarterback Geno Smith is showing promise, the offense had a huge day and the defense is quickly establishing itself as one of the NFL's best.
