The Jets have botched this in every single way. It looked like they had a good deal on the table from Tampa, but they have decided to declined for now.
Revis has been rehabbing away from Jets facility, but he has to come back, if he wants to collect his bonus money. Revis is going to leave after this season regardless, so the Jets would be wise to get something for him while they can. If he plays well, he is going to get a big free agent contract somewhere else and if he plays poorly the Jets will lose all their leverage.
It is a lose-lose unless they trade him now.

MORE JETS DRAMA
The New York Jets reportedly are "pressing the pause button" on an impending deal that would ship Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Darrelle Revis is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, or at least he was until he suffered a torn ACL. Revis has been rehabbing his injury, and he'd prefer to continue his rehab by himself, far removed from the Jets, but that's not something the Jets are willing to allow to happen. Revis will be returning to the Jets on Monday because the Jets don't believe, or are...
TAMPA, Fla. Greg Schiano stepped to a podium early Monday afternoon, speaking with the comfort of a man with his rookie Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching year behind him, aware that theres a large prize that could be gained for his second.
Monday marked the start of the Bucs' offseason workouts, a time of reunion and new energy, but one issue continues to swirl around One Buc Place...
After an entire offseason of waiting for cornerback Darrelle Revis to be traded, it appears the New York Jets have put those plans on hold. The latest word out of New York has the Jets actually tabling trade talks for the four-time Pro Bowler.
On Monday, Revis was undergoing medical tests and convening with the doctor who performed surgery to repair his left ACL. That meeting apparently...
According to RIch Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, the latest MRI on Darrelle Revis’ surgically repaired knee shows that he’s ahead of schedule with his rehab.

It is almost impossible to see Darrelle Revis play in 2013 as a member of the New York Jets. The tension between the two parties is not going away, especially since the Jets found another reason, upset their All-Pro cornerback who is recovering from a torn ACL. The Jets keep expressing how upset they are by Revis opting to use New York Giants team orthopedic Russ Warren to perform...
Gerald McCoy took to the podium today for the first time this offseason at One Buc Place. He also was not surprised when the first question he faced was about Darrelle Revis. “You would ask me that,” McCoy responded. But when it seemed as if he was going to avoid the question, he gave us his thoughts when asked if he was following the trade rumors. I’m not following it. I’m...
Mark Sanchez isn’t wanted anywhere it seems.
The New York Jets are probing a scenario where they can ship both Sanchez and Darrelle Revis out of town, but the only team interested in a deal for Revis, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have no interest in making such a move if Sanchez is in the mix, according to Pro Football Talk.
Sanchez, a four-year starter with the Jets, has been...
The Jets have some major needs to address in this u upcoming NFL Draft. New York needs to find an explosive pass rusher and wide receiver. They must upgrade their offensive front and perhaps the secondary, depending on what happens with Darrelle Revis. And might they take a strong look at a QB?
NFL Mock Draft News and Notes by DJ BoyerMark Sanchez…What is Going on?Maybe one of the most confusing stories now is the involvement/no involvement of Sanchez being tossed into the pot for Tampa Bay in the proposed Darrelle Revis trade. It does seem like this is legitimate and the Jets are not trying to force the hand of another team in order to make some type of move. Looks like...
