Randy Moss has always been used to being the "Guy" but in San Francisco, he has been more of a role player.
In Sunday nights 27-19 win against the Lions, Moss had one catch for 14 yards, is Moss happy with a part time role?
Moss, who hasnt addressed the media since Sept. 5, four days before the season opener, hasnt fielded those questions, but Jim Harbaugh did Monday and dismissed any the notion that Moss could become disgruntled.
Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports Harbaugh said Moss, who hasnt won a Super Bowl, wasnt worried about the being The Guy, a phrase a reporter used in asking about Moss playing time.
Nobody around here ever gets caught up with The Guy terminology, Harbaugh said. Its about us; its about the team. And Randy, theres no evidence that hes concerned about The Guy tag. He knows football. He knows the team that plays best is going to win the game. Hes been about that.
Harbaugh, of course, wants to keep everyone guessing.
There are a lot of possibilities there, Harbaugh said. Youd like to have your opponent think about all those different possibilities.

Randy Moss’ ‘Rand University’ introduction may not mean what you think
During the introductions of the Sunday Night Football broadcast, Randy Moss said he attended “Rand University” when the player introduction graphics were being shown at the bottom of the screen. Fans immediately interpreted “Rand” as some variation of the future Hall of Famer’s name. When you think about it like that, the straight cash homey jokes practically write themselves...
Vikings know they must be cautious of Moss
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. No team in the NFL understands how motivated receiver Randy Moss gets for big games better than the Minnesota Vikings, his club for the first seven seasons of his career and one ill-fated month in 2010.Minnesota has been the beneficiary of many of those big moments, such as when he scored two touchdowns in his first regular-season game and when he made his "...
NFL Rumors: Is Randy Moss Upset Over Lack of Playing Time?
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Randy Moss received little attention on the free agent market this season after announcing he wanted to return to the NFL for another season. Moss has long had a reputation for being broodish, selfish and very aloof. He is a very talented receiver but he has seemingly always been a player that required special handling as you never know when he might...

Randy Moss appreciates the start he got with the Vikings, but he anticipates a mix of cheers and boos. Either way, he said, it means he’s doing something right.
Randy returns
Randy Moss returns to the Metrodome for the first time in the regular season as a visitor. Will he be the Moss of old or just an old Moss?
Randy Moss introduces school as “Rand University” during SNF (video)
It’s nothing new for NFL players to have funny introductions during Sunday and Monday Night Football. Instead of the typical ” Santana Moss, Da U,” players often go with an introduction that is a whole lote more memorable. For example, Nate Burleson introduced his elementary school, Jared Allen, ‘culinary academy,’ Ike Taylor, ‘swaggin‘ and Terrell Suggs ‘ball so...
Captain Comeback
Following is a guest article from Turron Davenport of Press Coverage Sports
As the quarterback of the Colts, Jim Harbaugh led his team to come-from-behind wins over the Chiefs and Chargers in the 1995–96 NFL playoffs along with a near upset over the No. 2 AFC seed Steelers. This earned him the nickname “Captain Comeback.” In my opinion, Harbaugh’s most brilliant comeback...

49ers Vernon Davis goes with celebratory jump shot
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By JANIE McCAULEY AP Sports Writer Vernon Davis might get fewer style points these days for his touchdown celebrations - and he's perfectly fine with that.
The emotional San Francisco tight end learned from his blunder with the crossbar after scoring in a Week 1 win against the Packers at Lambeau Field. So, each time he scored...

Detroit Lions vs. San Francisco 49ers: Hero and Zero of the Game
Before the opening kickoff Sunday night at Candlestick Park, head coaches Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz met on the gridiron for first time since 49ers' (2-0) 25-19 comeback win in Motor City over the Lions' (1-1) week six last season. There was no cheek-kiss, no high-five, not even a fist-bump between the two. That was the plan. It was a cordial, light-hearted handshake...
San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings: Week 3 NFL Pick
San Francisco 49ers (2-0) at Minnesota Vikings (1-1)
The 49ers have been the best team in the league over the first two games. As a result, they’ve been atop almost every Power Ranking I’ve seen. It’s a very interesting dynamic. This is the prototypical “nobody believes in us” team. Before last year, they were seen as an also ran. The hadn’t had a winning season in almost...
San Francisco 49ers: Week 3 NFL Power Rankings (#9)
Last week: 13 (+4)
Record: 2-0
I still don’t think this team is much of a Super Bowl threat because eventually the turnover differentials will…blah blah blah regression I’m done repeating myself. Let’s focus on something positive, namely this amazing defense. This was Jim Harbaugh’s first full offseason with this team and many people expected an improved offense because...

NFL Warnes Coaches About ‘Bullying’ Replacement Refs -
A few week ago a replacement official picked up a flag for pass interference after the official was berated by a head coach. Though there’s no evidence that any official changed their mind on a call over the reaction from a coach, the league didn’t like the reactions of some of the coaches to some of the officials. Jay...
