The Indianapolis Colts didn’t have the most notable day in free agency Tuesday, but the Twitter feed of team owner Jim Irsay sure suggested otherwise. Irsay was promoting the team’s moves on his Twitter account, and you would have sworn the Colts had signed Mike Wallace and traded for Percy Harvin the way he was acting. We will have some big announcements very soon!!!!!!!! We are THRILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! — Jim Irsay (@JimIrsay) March 12, 2013 Shoot, after a tweet like that, you had to be excited. So what was the big news? The Colts reached deals with OT Gosder Cherilus, DB Greg Toler, LB Erik Walden, OG Donald Thomas, and LB Lawrence Sidbury — none of whom are notable stars. Because of the way he was hyping up the team’s moves, fans were understandably disappointed with the deals. That prompted a response from Irsay: I know sum of u fans want BIG names n neon- Old,hurt or off field question marks/Grigson isn’t GM of year, who won 11 games by being wrong! — Jim Irsay (@JimIrsay) March 12, 2013 What a doofus.
