Texans DE J.J. Watt is busy preparing for the season finale against the Colts on Sunday, but I’m sure the thought of breaking Michael Strahan’s single season sack record is in the back of his mind somewhere. Watt—who’s been a defensive force for the playoff bound Texans this year—sits at 20.5 sacks on the season, just two shy of Strahan.  But even with all that going on this weekend, Watt still took some time out of his busy schedule to hang with several children from Newtown, Conn., site of the horrific Sandy Hook school shooting that took place earlier this month. Watt tweeted out the picture above, along with the caption, “Our new friends from Newtown, CT.”  As for why he did what he did, Watt told USA Today that he “just wanted to give them a normal day.” Our new friends from Newtown, CT. twitter.com/JJWatt/status/… — JJ Watt (@JJWatt) December 28, 2012 WR Andre Johnson got in on the action as well, giving the kids tips on how to kick field goals. Apparently his tutelage paid off, because the very next kick went straight through the uprights. This isn’t the first time Watt has honored the victims of the Newtown tragedy. For the week 15 game against the Colts he wrote “Newtown, CT” on one glove, and “S.H.E.S.” on the other, another simple, yet classy gesture. I was neither here nor there on Watt breaking the single season sack record, but now that I’ve seen what a great person he is, and what a terrific role model he is for the NFL, you better believe I’m pulling for him to drop Andrew Luck two or more times in the backfield this Sunday and grab the record. If he ends up with the sack title when all is said and done, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. [Shutdown Corner] The post J.J.
