Head Coach John Harbaugh is now, finally, revealing a sense of urgency for his team. A team that has lost 3 0f their last 4 and have looked inconsistent at best in their losses especially in season opener against Denver. “We’ll do whatever it takes,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll trade guys, we’ll cut guys, we’ll sign guys, we’ll coach guys, we’ll change schemes. It doesn’t matter. We have to find a way to get better. That’s the business we’re in. We’ve got the men for the job. I like our guys but that’s what we’ve got to continue to work on. This week’s a chance to really focus on that.” It’s nice to hear a coach being so candid. It certainly appears that some chances need to be made for Ravens. Need NFL Tickets? Loading... Ravens’ Dennis Pitta hopes to return in late November

At the start of the season, Baltimore Ravens tight end, Dennis Pitta, who suffered a hip injury in the preseason, was placed on the injured reserve list designated for return.  As Josh Alper of NBCSports tells us, the Ravens hope his return is just on the Maryland horizon. Current rules dictate that if a player is injured and put on injured reserve after Sept. 4, that player may...

According to Larry Brown Sports via Black Sports Online,  former Ravens linebacker and current ESPN analyst Ray Lewis says that when he looked into Adrian Peterson’s eyes after Monday night’s loss to the Giants,  he wondered if he will retire. “Me going out on that field tonight and me looking at Adrian Peterson’s eyes, it’s something that I want to bring up that I don’t...

Baltimore Ravens: 2013 Week 8 NFL Power Rankings (#13)

Last week: 12 (-1) Record: 3-4 The Ravens are 3-4, but remember that they were favored just twice in their first 7 games, so they’ve actually exceeded expectations. In their final 9 games, they will be favored at least 5 times, maybe 6 or 7. They host the Jets, the Steelers, the Vikings, Bengals and go to Cleveland, all games in which they will definitely be favored. They also...

Ravens left guard Kelechi Osemele acknowledged that a back injury has affected his play this season and expects to have surgery to repair the damage during the offseason. Rex Ryan opens up to Ray Lewis about biggest coaching regret

Rex Ryan sat down for an interview with his former player turned ESPN analyst Ray Lewis and talked about his biggest coaching regret. Ryan told Lewis his biggest regret was telling his 2006 Baltimore Ravens defense that if they kept the Indianapolis Colts from scoring a touchdown in their playoff game, they’d win. Why? Because […]

Report: Ravens Bring RB Beanie Wells In For A Workout

Aaron Wilson reports that the Baltimore Ravens brought in former Cardinals RB Beanie Wells for a workout. Baltimore currently has an open roster spot following the release of Josh Bynes, but it would be surprising to see them sign Wells with Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce healthy. The Ravens rushing attack has been miserable this season, so this could be them keeping tabs on available...

Ray Lewis thinks Adrian Peterson may retire early.

Recently retired Baltimore Ravens linebacker and future Hall of Famer Ray Lewis is making his living as a sports analyst for the NFL these days and he is still managing to stay in the headlines. During Monday’s Vikings v.s. Giants game, Lewis mentioned that current Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson had a similar look in his eyes to Barry Sanders before he called...

Jason Takes Baltimore – The Good

By Matthew Marczi As has pretty much always been the case with Jason Worilds, the fourth-year outside linebacker sprinkled in both some good and some bad during his fill-in starting performance for Jarvis Jones against the Baltimore Ravens. At times, he displayed veteran awareness of his surroundings, and at others, he looked confused. For the sake of order, it is probably easiest...

Ravens with the most to prove after the bye

Marlon BrownLet’s be serious. Marlon Brown shouldn’t be a number two receiver in the league. Brown may develop into a great player some day but at this point, he is just another guy.Brown has something to prove because opposing teams have started to slow down Torrey Smith. The rookie out of Georgia has exceeded expectations thus far but has no business being a number two receiver...

Report: Dennis Pitta May Not Be Back Until Mid-To-Late November

ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that Ravens do not expect to have TE Dennis Pitta back until mid-to-late November. Werder adsd that Pitta is “working out regularly.“ Recovering from a fractured hip he sustained in July, Pitta was placed on the short-term injured reserve early on in the preseason. Pitta resumed practice earlier this month, so there appears to be some optimism that...

Agent who bungled Dumvervil deal fined, suspended

Back in March the Broncos and Elvis Dumervil's agent Marty Magid agreed to a restructured contract. All that was left to do was for Magid have Dumervil sign the new deal and return a copy to the team before a deadline that would require the Broncos to either pay the linebacker his original salary or release him outright. The organization didn't receive Dumervil's faxed...
