Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer was scheduled to earn $1.323 million in 2013 had he been on week one roster, but being as he was waived during the final round of cuts, that one-year restricted tender did not have to be paid. Dwyer of course was re-signed on Monday after the Steelers lost LaRod Stephens-Howling for the season to a knee injury suffered in the season opening loss to the Tennessee Titans and his new one-year deal is a non guaranteed $630,000 contract, which is the league minimum for his amount of accrued seasons. RB Dwyer returns to #Steelers a relative bargain. He signed RFA for $1.3 M, but was cut Aug. 31,re- signed Mon & now has salary of $630,000 — Ed Bouchette (@EdBouchette) September 11, 2013 Dwyer did not receive a signing bonus and the Steelers will suffer no salary cap consequences should they have to waive him again later in the year. For now, Dwyer is listed as the last running back on the Steelers depth chart, but that could certainly change quickly depending on how Isaac Redman and Felix Jones both play Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. Dwyer told the media Wednesday that he's got chip on his shoulder and said he was told to be ready to play against the Bengals. In addition, Dwyer says he's a changed person since being cut and that he had been working out in Florida before coming back to Steelers. Dwyer says he's a changed person since being cut.
