Found October 23, 2013 on AFC East Daily:
Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin played left tackle in college, but he started his first 12 professional games on the right side last year with Jake Long manning the left. Martin, however, started the last four games of the 2012 season at left tackle with Long out to injury. The Dolphins were indecisive about where to put Martin this offseason but ultimately opted to keep him on the left side after Long's departure. As it turns out, the second-year player will be flipping positions yet again. After it was clear the Tyson Clabo project at right tackle just wasn't working, the Dolphins traded for Baltimore Ravens tackle Bryant McKinnie Monday. It didn't take long for McKinnie to confirm what he was brought in to do. "I'm a left tackle," the veteran McKinnie said Tuesday, via The Miami Herald. "All I've ever played. I've never taken a snap at right tackle." So, whether he likes it or not, Martin will re-assume his old place on...

Dolphins plug glaring hole on offensive line, but is it enough?

The Miami Dolphins yesterday addressed a crucial need on their offensive line by trading for veteran Bryant McKinnie of the Ravens. While the deal for McKinnie cost the Dolphins a late round pick, this deal, as it seems is a short-term solution. First, the Dolphins have surrendered 27 sacks of their current franchise quarterback Ryan Tannehill.  On the right side, embattled...

Ryan Tannehill is ‘The Answer’ for the Dolphins

Ryan Tannehill’s turnovers cost the Miami Dolphins what was supposed to be the easiest game on the 2013 schedule.  He threw a pick six on the game’s opening possession, an interception in the end zone down 14-0 in the first quarter and then fumbled with the team up a point on a sack that gave the Buffalo Bills possession in field goal range with under three minutes to go. Lamar Miller Poised for a Fantasy Breakout

Here are my top fantasy match-ups for week 8 of the NFL season. RB Lamar Miller vs. Patriots run defense The loss of Vince Wilfork and Jerod Mayo has made an already vulnerable run defense even more susceptible to big plays from opposing running backs. The Patriots allowed their first 100 yard rusher of […]

Dolphins QB Tannehill nursing sore shoulder

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is nursing a right shoulder injury that's limiting his practice time. Tannehill has been sacked 26 times to lead the NFL but hasn't missed a snap this season. His injury wasn't disclosed until the Dolphins issued a practice report Wednesday. Miami (3-3) plays at New England (5-2) on Sunday. Tannehill was also listed with a...

Stephen Ross: Dolphins 'fully embrace' playing overseas

Six NFL teams will play in three regular season games overseas in 2014. The Miami Dolphins are one of them. The Dolphins will play "visitor" to the Oakland Raiders at London's Wembley Stadium, as announced by Commissioner Roger Goodell Thursday. “With our historically strong following internationally, the Dolphins are proud to once again represent the league abroad...

Report: Dolphins interested in Jay Ratliff

According to the Miami Herald,  the Dolphins are one of several teams interested in free agent defensive tackle Jay Ratliff. We hear the Dolphins are among several teams that have called about four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jay Ratliff, who was released by Dallas and hasn’t played this season because of sports hernia surgery. Ratliff, 32, hopes to meet with teams within...

Bryant McKinnie could fill big hole on line for Dolphins

DAVIE, Fla. -- Bryant McKinnie saw himself as a Miami Dolphin years ago. "It's funny, me and Ed Reed used to make jokes in college and say we'll come back here and finish our career," the former University of Miami star said. "It feels good to be back here and get the chance to play in front of people who saw me play in college and to be able to be in my...

Miami Dolphins: 2013 Week 8 NFL Power Rankings (#19)

Last week: 17 (-2) Record: 3-3 Remember when the Dolphins started 3-0 and everyone thought they were awesome? I pointed out that 22 of 32 teams last year win at least 3 games in a row at some point, including the 7-9 Dolphins. Doing it at the beginning of the season makes it more noticeable, but not necessarily more impressive. In 2011, the Bills started 3-0 and the Cardinals started...

Tackle Bryant McKinnie joins Dolphins practice

Bryant McKinnie came out of his stance and lowered his shoulder into a practice squad player, causing a crisp thud to reverberate in the Miami Dolphins' practice bubble. ''That's right,'' offensive line coach Jim Turner hollered. ''Nice short first step.'' The Dolphins hope McKinnie's arrival Tuesday marks a big step in the right direction...

Miami Dolphins News and Notes: Preparing for New England

Bill Belichick says Charles Clay is 'more than just a receiver'

Miami Dolphins tight end Charles Clay has established himself as a very real factor in the passing game. Clay has a touchdown reception in his last three contests and is averaging 12.7 yards a reception on 24 catches, including longs of 67 and 45 yards in two different games. But the New England Patriots, who host the Dolphins Sunday, aren't just preparing to defend his pass...

Protection problematic for Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- Ryan Tannehill is playing lately like a quarterback under duress, which he is. During the Miami Dolphins' three-game losing streak, Tannehill has been sacked 12 times and committed seven turnovers. Tannehill ranks fourth in the NFL with 11 turnovers, including three that made a difference of at least 13 points in the Dolphins' 23-21 loss last week to the...

Dolphins’ Ryan Tannehill limited in practice with shoulder injury

James Walker of ESPN.com reports that Miami Dolphins quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, was limited in practice Wednesday with a right (throwing) shoulder injury. Sacked more times than ancient Rome this season, it is not surprising to see Tannehill on the injury report with a shoulder issue.  Tannehill was also listed on the Week 3 injury report with right (throwing) shoulder injury...
