The Minnesota Vikings did not want to immediately address their quarterback situation following a blowout loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Matt Cassel played at quarterback for the Vikings going 32-of-44 for 241 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. Though much of Cassel’s stats were accumulated late in a 35-10 home loss.
With Josh Freeman signed recently and a 1-4 record the Vikings may be pressured to make a change with their signal caller.
It seems unlikely that the Vikings would turn back to Christian Ponder who was ineffective prior to being injured. That may prompt Freeman, who sat on the sidelines in street clothes on Sunday, to start next weeks game against an 0-6 New York Giants team.
When asked if Freeman would start in Week 7, Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier was non-committal.
