The past month probably hasn’t been too much fun for Julian Edelman. First being a healthy scratch against Pittsburgh. Then being arrested the next day after a Halloween party at a Boston nightclub on groping charges.
Edelman, however, has endured, and reinvented himself. We knew he could return punts. He just re-emphasized that tonight with his 72-yard punt return for a touchdown in the 34-3 Chiefs win.
In the past two games, however, he’s also shown that he can go the way of Troy Brown, and play both sides of the ball if called upon. Once again, Bill Belichick employed Edelman as a defensive back, mostly in dime packages. He was pretty involved, getting a holding call on mammoth tight end Leonard Pope, while also making a tackle.
Edelman, speaking for the first time since his arrest, indicated he would not discuss the incident per advice of his lawyer. The Pats receiver had been arraigned after being charged with groping a woman at the Back Bay bar Storyville. He pleaded not guil...
