All the Falcons' brain-trust talked about over the offseason was adding more explosive plays. They went out and give up a slew of draft picks to move up 21 spots in the draft to select wide receiver Julio Jones. His job was simply to add some boom-bang-boom to the offense. Against the Colts, Jones, who was coming back from a hamstring injury that caused him to miss two games, broke loose for 50- and 80-yard touchdowns. He finished with three catches for 131 yards and 33 yards on two reverses. "Julio does, in fact, make us a better football team," Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said. It was the third time this season Jones had over 100 yards receiving. "We know the skill-set he has," Falcons coach Mike Smith said. "He's going to be and is an integral part of our offense." Jones was asked if he was amazed by his performance. "I don't amaze myself," Jones said. "I kind of expect that." On Jones' 50-yard touchdown, he fought his way through two Colts defenders to make a diving catch of a Matt Ryan pass in the end zone. "I had my hands underneath the ball," Jones said. On Jones' 80-yard touchdown, he turned a short slant pattern into a 72-yard dash to the end zone. "If you throw it to him short ... you're not going to catch him from behind," tight end Tony Gonzalez said. "I've said from the beginning he is the most talented rookie I've ever seen. The future is so bright for him."
