Former star linebacker Junior Seau was found dead inside his home this morning by his housekeeper according to The North County Times.  Seau, who was drafted by San Diego with the fifth overall pick in 1990, died from a gushot wound to the chest.

Seau leaves behind three kids and an ex-wife.
Police are "investigating a possible shooting," but U-T San Diego reported that a 911 call was made at approximately 10 a.m. local time that indicated a possible suicide.

TMZ is reporting that police at the scene believe that Seau did shoot himself, and a news outlet, 10News is reporting that a witness on the scene overheard police saying the Seau has committed suicide.

Also, TMZ is saying that they were told that Seau sent text messages to his ex-wife and three kids yesterday saying, "Love you," and that they all responded and didn't suspect anything.

Seau, who played his college football at USC, was a ten-time All-Pro and 12-time Pro Bowl selection.  he was also a member on the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team.

Seau played for the San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins before retiring in 2006.  he then joined the New England Patriots just four days later, and played until his second retirement in 2010.
Seau was inducted into the San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame in 2011.

During his career, Seau played in 268 games, recording 1524 tackles, 56.5 sacks, 18 interceptions and one touchdown.
