Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has had the Chiefs' number in the past. The former Buffalo Bill had a 4-1 record against the Chiefs going into Sunday’s game.Playing because of an injury to Jake Locker his Tennessee Titans took on Kansas City in Nashville, and Fitzpatrick wished to make the most of it.Fitzpatrick scored on nine yard run to put the Titans up 17 – 13 early in the Fourth Quarter and for the first time all year Kansas City had to make a late game comeback.Looking as though the Titans were going to get the win, the Chiefs' defense highlighted by an interception from cornerback Marcus Cooper in the fourth quarter, didn’t allow it as Tennessee’s second half comeback was thwarted. The 5-0 Chiefs offensively had trouble with the Titans' stout defense, but Tennessee made big mistakes early and the Chiefs capitalized.Off a muffed Titans punt Cooper scored a special team’s touchdown early in the game. Quarterback Alex Smith played his worst game passing-wise, but with the game on the line Smith managed to get a fourth quarter touchdown thanks to a big pass to Dwayne Bowe and a goal line run by Jamaal Charles. The Titans' defense played very well and dropped several would be interceptions. Titan's wide receiver Kenny Britt also dropped several catches that would of helped his team. The game was also heavily flagged for both teams. A controversial late hit out of bounds against Smith, helped keep the game winning drive alive for the Chiefs.Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop converted four field goals in the game and his 48-yard kick sealed the victory late in the game. The Chiefs go to 5-0 for the first time since 2003’s Dick Vermeil coached team. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, with a victory yesterday against the Titans, has now defeated every team in the National Football League.
