The Kansas City Chiefs are trying to get to Andy Reid before he gets to Arizona according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com.
Kansas City officials are flying to Philadelphia to do an end around the almost certain landing spot in Arizona.
The common belief is if he gets there, he won’t be leaving. The up in the air status of GM Scott Pioli continues to get kicked around like an old tin can.
Reid in Philadelphia had complete control of football operations, and one would have to wonder where Scott Pioli fits in that scheme.
Owner Clark Hunt stated that the next coach would have a direct line to ownership, a mechanism that wasn’t in place before, and Pioli was the bottleneck.
Again, not good news for Pioli, who is considered a control freak and has alienated himself from previous coaches such as Todd Haley.
Reid will most certainly want to run his own operations, but would he bring Pioli aboard? Would Pioli accept a smaller role, somewhat in the capacity of the type of personnel position he held in New England?
