Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt was hired as the Tennessee Titans head coach Monday.  Whisenhunt leaves his position as the San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator following their loss to the Denver Broncos in Sunday’s divisional playoff matchup. While former head coach Mike Munchak continues to search for a new job, the Titans have wasted no time finding a new head coach. Whisenhunt was formerly the offensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers but was most notably the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2007 to 2012.  Whisenhunt led the Cardinals to the Super Bowl in 2009 where he fell short to his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Serving as the tight end and special teams coach at Vanderbilt University prior to entering the limelight of the NFL, Whisenhunt may have been drawn to his roots as a coach in the state of Tennessee.  As a NFL head coach, Ken Whisenhunt holds a 45-51 record with two playoff appearances.  The Tennessee Titans never reached the playoffs under former head coach Mike Munchak.
