Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan was interviewed Tuesday in New York on "CBS This Morning" and reiterated his goal to rebuild the franchise "one piece at a time, one step at a time.""I think the first thing is you've got to relate to the fans," Khan said to Charlie Rose, Norah O'Donnell and Gayle King. "They have got to re-embrace us."Although the Jaguars are coming off the worst season in their history after finishing with a 2-14 record, he expressed optimism that the NFL's system of competitive balance will allow them to turn things around in a hurry."The NFL really defines that -- where you could be horrible one year and be very competitive the next," he said.He also spoke candidly when asked about becoming the league's first Pakistani-Muslim owner, saying that even after meeting fans in person for the first time, "there were still people who were unhappy. And it was like, 'Well, it's your problem now; it's not mine.' " But he was coy when Rose, without mentioning Tim Tebow by name, asked Khan if he was looking for any "famous quarterbacks" to add to the Jaguars' roster."We all are," he replied with a smile.
