Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe continued his campaign to get punter Ray Guy into the Hall of Fame by writing ''Vote Ray Guy'' on his jersey patch commemorating the Hall of Fame.
Players are wearing the patch to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Kluwe wrote the message in protest of the fact that there are no punters in the hall. Kluwe says he knows he will probably get fined for putting the personal message on his jersey. But he feels it's worth it.
Kluwe says ''Why am I going to support a Hall of Fame that doesn't have a punter in it?''
He calls it ''a sham of a system if you're not going to acknowledge every facet of the game.''

The Vikings were able to fend off the Chicago Bears and keep their playoff hopes alive, but their Week 14 victory isn’t what’s making headlines; Adrian Peterson’s quest for 2,000 yards isn’t either. Instead, the media and fans are growling just a little louder about Christian Ponder’s role as the team’s starting quarterback.
Head coach Leslie Frazier has addressed Ponder’s...

MINNEAPOLIS There was a Christian Ponder-sized elephant in the postgame interview room on Sunday.
The Vikings had won, 21-14, defeating the Bears and advancing their record to 7-6. They'd done so handily, carrying a two-touchdown lead into the fourth quarter, and as the clock ticked down, there was no doubt who'd be walking off the field victorious.
MINNEAPOLIS Harrison Smith and Josh Robinson were two key draftees for the Minnesota Vikings this summer, taken with the team's second and third picks in the first and third rounds of April's draft, respectively.
Smith and Robinson then carved out roles quickly in Minnesota's retooled secondary, playing key parts since the beginning of the season. Smith has started...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. In their push for a new stadium, the Minnesota Vikings spoke often about the modern conveniences lacking at the Metrodome. The Teflon-covered dome has long been disparaged by fans and teams alike.
For all its quirks and inconveniences, the Metrodome has served the Vikings well through the years, with a 163-89 record all-time under the white roof, old and new...
After suffering an ACL injury, Adrian Peterson was supposed to get back to his old self, instead he found a new ‘self.’ In a 21-14 win over the Chicago Bears Peterson ran wild over the vaunted Bears defense.
He had 154 yards rushing on 31 carries giving him 1,600 yards in pursuit of the 2,000 club.
Peterson will need 133.3 yards per game over the final three to make it to...
Adrian Peterson went down with a torn ACL right around this time one year ago. Now, the NFL’s premier running back is looking to make history. With three games left in the season, Peterson is within rushing distance of 2,000 yards on the ground. In fact, he’s just 400 yards away from becoming the seventh back to accomplish the feat. But Peterson won’t be happy with merely joining...
The Vikings have bent over backwards to support Christian Ponder through a rough stretch, but at what point does winning now become more important than trying to develop Ponder? An in-game switch to Joe Webb doesn’t have to mean the end to developing Ponder.
The Vikings set the tone for Sunday’s game on their first offensive play of the day: a 51-yard scamper by Adrian Peterson. We go to the film room to find out what went wrong on this crucial snap.
We replay all the on-field action from Chicago’s Week14 road loss to the Minnesota Vikings, a defeat that puts the Bears’ hopes of making the playoffs in serious peril.
MINNEAPOLIS -- It has gotten to the point where Adrian Peterson's teammates are wondering. Can this really be happening? Or, more simply, as Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder said after Sunday's 21-14 victory over Chicago at Mall of America Field: "I don't know if he's human or not." He would be running back Adrian Peterson, who continued his march...
A few weeks ago the Chicago Bears defeated the Minnesota Vikings at home. On Sunday the Bears travel on the road for a game scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. EST.
The comeback story of Adrian Peterson from his torn ACL at the end of last season is nothing short of amazing. Peterson is again one of the NFL’s most explosive and dependable players. Peterson has topped 100 yards rushing...
