LaRon Landry is playing for the guy he wants to play for. To hell with the rest of them. Rex Ryan loves Landry’s work ethic and Landry loves Ryan’s unique and aggressive defense, which LaRon says is ultimately why he ended up in New York. However, the safety said the absence of Bill Belichick during his visit with the Patriots made his decision to not sign with New England easy. “He wasn’t even there,” Landry told the NY Daily News. “So that was a no-brainer. I should have never taken that visit. I was like, ‘Damn, if you’re going to visit, the head coach (should be) there.’ I felt, ‘Okay, that’s a slap in the face.’” Perhaps Belichick had to tend to an emergency. Maybe he enjoys screwing with free agents as much he enjoys screwing with the media. In any event, it wasn’t a good match. Landry also took aim at his former coach, Mike Shanahan. The former LSU star battled Achilles injuries in 2010 and 2011, and his season ended prematurely both years as a result. The Redskins recommen

Introducing Bill Belichick: The College Graduate

Belichick The Scholar A.B. When I found Belichick’s high school senior picture last year, I couldn’t help but laugh. The Lloyd Christmas hair was just too much. But being a fellow I-comb-over-my-hair-because-its-straight-as-an-arrow club member, I can’t hate on Bill’s college portrait here. And in case you were wondering about the quote: Abraham Cowley, The Vote (excerpt...

Landry criticizes Belichick, Shanny

LaRon Landry had some harsh words for two NFL coaches, criticizing both Bill Belichick and Mike Shanahan. See what he said.

The Chronicles of the Gronk: Episode 2

Inside Bill Belichick’s Office – As Bill Studies Secret Practice Tape At His Desk, The Phone Rings Bill Belichick: This is Bill, who the **** is this? Bob Kraft:  God damnit, Bill!  I told you to stop answering the phone like that.  Anyway, what the **** kind of ship have you been running the last few months?  I swear, every single time I go somewhere on vacation, I get...

Bill O'Brien Wins First Game at Penn State as Nittany Lions Sink Navy

Bill Belichick surely had an eye on at least one college football score today. It was Belichick's former assistant against the school where the Patriots' head coach first learned to coach under his father as Penn State faced off against Navy. Bill O'Brien got the first win of his head coaching career as the Nittany Lions clobbered the Midshipmen 34-7 at Beaver Stadium...

Belichick on Hernandez: no update

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick says he doesn't know how long tight end Aaron Hernandez will be sidelined with a right ankle injury. Asked Monday if Hernandez broke any bones, Belichick said, ''I don't really have any update on his status. I think they're still looking at him.'' ESPN.com reported that Hernandez would not play Sunday night at...

LaRon Landry not a fan or Mike Shanahan or Bill Belichick

New York Jets safety LaRon Landry seems to be very happy with his new head coach Rex Ryan. Landry was asked about his time with the Redskins and doesn’t have anything good to say about their doctors or head coach Mike Shanahan. “That’s why they have great doctors and they have okay doctors, great trainers and okay trainers,” Landry said. “(The Redskins) had people who just...

Ras-I Dowling Receives Zero Snaps in Patriots Week Two Loss

When Bill Belichick drew up his defensive gameplan this week, he completely omitted one of the most promising, young players on the Patriots defenes. Ras-I Dowling was one of three New England players that received zero snaps against the Cardinals on Sunday in what can best be described as a puzzling decision. Backup quarterback Ryan Mallett and guard Dan Connolly were the other...

Will Wes Welker get a fresh start now that Hernandez is out for weeks?

If one of the Patriots’ Swiss Army Knives Julian Edelman gets cut this week, its pretty much safe to say it’s because he took out one of the team’s superstars. Edelman rolled up underneath tight end Aaron Hernandez’s ankle during Sunday’s loss against the Arizona Cardinals as he made his way downfield after catching a screen pass from Tom Brady. Bill Belichick channels his inner Iverson, talks about Practice

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick gave his best Allen Iverson impression Monday when he touched on a rumors of a poor practice week might have led up to a poor performance by the Flying Elvii Sunday."I don’t know, you would have to ask them that. I think practice is practice. Practice never goes perfectly. That’s what practice is for: you work on new things...

Patriots look to build on win over Tennessee

Bill Belichick got one of his answers he was looking for in the Titans game. He found out that his defense can shut down a premier running back with speed cold in his tracks. Against Arizona this weekend, the question will be whether they can they shut down an elite receiver in Larry Fitzgerald. Starting quarterback John Skelton has an ankle sprain, so Kevin Kolb will be the guy...

After eye-popping opener, Jets sputter in big way

The New York Jets offense that had a stunning opening-week scoring splurge was nowhere to be found for most of the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Neither was Tim Tebow, who had even less of a role than he did in Week 1. Rex Ryan's self-proclaimed dominant defense also missed plenty of tackles late in the game. Ryan says Monday that his team ''made too many mistakes...

Arizona Cardinals Look to Break Series Tie Sunday Against New England

As the 1-0 Arizona Cardinals get set to fly east to take on the 1-0 New England Patriots on Sunday, let’s take a look at some interesting notes in their all-time series: 1) The overall series is tied up at 6-6. 2) The Patriots have won the last five contests. 3) The last time the two teams met was on a snowy day in Foxboro in Dec. 2008. This is one the Red Birds would like to forget...

Revis needs to miss the Pittsburgh game to clear the fog

It is Friday and Darrelle Revis is STILL NOT cleared for contact after suffering a concussion against the Bills in week 1.  Revis admits that it felt like he was in a “fog” all week. Revis said he feels pretty good now and wants to play, but what player do you know ever said that they don’t want to play. He said he would go out there with a broken leg and I believe him...

Instant Reaction – Disappointing Jets Fall To 1-1

It was going to be a tall order for the New York Jets in Pittsburgh, against a desperate 0-1 team particularly without Darrelle Revis, Dustin Keller and Bryan Thomas in the line-up. However, there are no excuses for how the Jets lost today. Dropped passes. Muffed punts. Porous tackling. Questionable coaching decisions. The game was there for the taking and the Jets put forth a sloppy...

According to Manish Mehta, Jets head coach Rex Ryan has confirmed that cornerback Darrelle Revis still hasn’t been cleared for contact after suffering a concussion during their week one win over the Bills.
