Which one is it Eagles fans. Does Shady want the ball or not? Throughout the Andy Reid era, the biggest knock on Reid was his usage of Shady, or lack thereof. McCoy has a new coach and a new defined role.  The Eagles will go as McCoy goes after carrying the ball 31 times against the Redskins for 180 plus yards. McCoy doesn’t mind the Eric Dickerson like workload, but warned that the Eagles and Chip Kelly need to do a better job of working other guys in, and monitoring reps. “I didn’t mind it Monday night,” McCoy said, via Tim McManus of PhillyMag.com. “I think we can do a better job rotating because it’s a long season. I don’t think I need to have the ball 31, 32 times in a game for us to be a successful offense. We have too many different weapons. I think the running backs we have here can definitely play. Bryce Brown showed you last year he’s definitely a talented back. So I think we have to do a better job of monitoring the reps.” McCoy made sure to clarify that he wasn’t knocking his coach. You don’t want to come off like a running back asking for less carries.

McCoy: Eagles have to do a better job rotating me out

(Credit: phillysportscentral) On Monday night, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy reminded the NFL why he was a top five running back just two seasons ago. During the team’s Monday night game, McCoy carried the ball 31 times for 184 yards and a touchdown. He also had one reception for 5 yards. Despite helping his team to a win and currently leading the league in rushing...

Philadelphia Eagles: week 2 home opener

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off of a week 1 performance that left fans both ecstatic about what the future holds, as well as with a cloud of concern over the Eagles’ inability to put the game away. Philly held on for the win, but not without some late game drama on the part of a 20-0 run by the Washington Redskins. The Eagles’ week 2 foes, the San Diego Chargers, are in...

Eagles Lesean McCoy Wouldn’t Mind Rotating Out More

Ever hear of a player that didn’t want the ball every single down? Today is that day. Eagles Lesean McCoy says that Chip Kelly can do a better job of getting the ball to the other players on the field and rotating him in more. “I didn’t mind it Monday night” McCoy said this week per Tim McManus of PhillyMag.com. “I think we can do a better job rotating because it’s a...

New Coach lifts wading QB, Eagles

Chip Kelly may be onto something. The Eagles offense ran 53 plays in the first half of Monday night’s inner-division contest against the Redskins, leaving the burgundy and gold defenders confused and frequently gasping for air. Michael Vick hasn’t looked more composed since his scintillating 2010 MVP-caliber campaign, and LeSean McCoy displayed the lightning quickness of his...

LeSean McCoy says Chip Kelly needs to monitor his reps better

Even though Eagles running back LeSean McCoy says he didn’t mind getting 31 carries this past Monday night,  he would like head coach Chip Kelly to disperse the load to the other backs on the team as well. “I didn’t mind it Monday night,” he said, via PhillyMag.com. “I think we can do a better job rotating because it’s a long season. I don’t think I need to have the...

Andy Reid: Cowboys 'have a great owner' and 'they do it the right way'

IRVING Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is obviously very familiar with the Dallas Cowboys. Reid has more victories coaching against the Cowboys than any other head coach in the history of the game, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Andy Reid believes Jamaal Charles will be OK for this week

According to Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star,  even though Jamaal Charles (quad) was held out of today’s practice,  head coach Andy Reid believes he’ll be OK to play this week against the Cowboys. Reid said Charles will be held out of practice this afternoon: "We're just taking it slow. I think he'll be OK for the game.'' — Adam Teicher (@adamteicher...

Fresh start with Chiefs should energize Reid

Back-to-back losses to the Dallas Cowboys in 2009 caused Andy Reid to completely revamp his roster. I recall walking into GM Howie Roseman's office in the 2010 offseason and seeing only two teams' depth charts on the wall: the Eagles and Cowboys. Head coach Andy Reid, who had final say in all personnel decisions at that point, was disgusted by not being able to match up...

Preview: Chiefs look to build on season-opening win

With a season-opening victory, Andy Reid has solidified the optimism that surrounded his hire as coach of the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this year. Now they'll try to build on it against a team Reid knows well from his days in the NFC East. Reid makes his home debut in Kansas City on Sunday as the Chiefs look to match their win total from last season against a Dallas Cowboys...

No. 1     Look For Bryce Brown To Have More Of An Impact In The Running GameIn the Eagles opener on Monday night, the run game was almost unstoppable.  Lesean McCoy totaled 31 carries for 184 yards and a touchdown.  He’s obviously going to be one of the top backs in the league this year as long as he stays healthy.  But his health may be in danger if he continues to tote...

Philadelphia Daily News Credits Story to Wrong Writer, Gets Corrected by Reporter on Twitter

Les Bowen is one heck of a reporter, and his tweets are both informative and refreshingly tongue-in-cheek at times. But he’s not about to take credit where it isn’t due. Bowen, the Eagles beat reporter for the Philadelphia Daily News, clearly was surprised to see the Twitter account for Philly.com’s sports section send out a link to one of his stories on Friday. It wasn’t...

Can the Philadelphia Eagles surge to 2-0 against the San Diego Chargers?

After the excitement of Monday night’s win over the Washington Redskins, there are two more opportunities in the next five days to see if the Philadelphia Eagles can do it again, first against San Diego on Sunday, then on Thursday versus Andy Reid and the Chiefs. Sunday’s game against the Chargers is the home opener at the Linc. The Birds hope to surge to 2-0, while San Diego...
