After two straight losses and a week off, the Miami Dolphins will return to action on Sunday for their first of two meetings this season against the Buffalo Bills. Miami comes in to the contest with a 3-2 record and in sole possession of the final wild card spot in the AFC.
The biggest issue for the Dolphins heading into the recent bye week was certainly the shoddy play of the offensive line, but a close second for Miami has to be the big plays recently allowed by the defense. As bad as the offensive line play has been this season, the big plays allowed of late have been as big a reason for the Dolphins' two-game skid as the dismal play of the offensive front.
Over the first three games, all wins for Miami, the Dolphins allowed a grand total of 53 points. In their last two losses, the Dolphins have yielded 64 points.
Miami most recently fell to Baltimore 26-23. The Dolphins allowed 384 yards of offense to the Ravens, but nearly a third of that came on three plays as the Raven...
BEST OF MAXIM
The Miami Dolphins were able to sit at home on Sunday and watch 2 out of the other 3 teams in the AFC East lose. The Jets and Bills both lost and the Patriots came within one Saints first down of losing. Do even with a week off, the Dolphins gained some ground. Also, a number of their out-of-division playoff competition lost as well. The Jets, Titans, Browns, Ravens, Texans...
The Miami Dolphins have had plenty of time to rest and recover from the first 5 games of their season. NOW, the real challenge begins. The Dolphins will play 3 games in a 12 day stretch, a stretch of games that could likely decide whether their season is a success or a failure. The Dolphins currently sit at 3-2 and a win against the Bills on Sunday would not only get them...
In Mike Pouncey Randy Starks has more than a teammate and a locker room neighbor. He has a public-relations enforcer.
One could argue that Starks is having the best season of his excellent career. But with the 10th-year defensive tackle that’s always just part of the story.
Already this season he has held out of spring workouts stewed over not starting and flipped the bird to...
The Miami Dolphins have started off 3-2 after what was expected to be a brutal opening stretch of games. That's good, right? Kind of.
None of us expected them to do this well, but even the most pleasant surprises will sour if less pleasant surprises come around. After two straight losses and some of the worst blocking in the NFL, the Dolphins have come back down to earth...
If the Miami Dolphins are going to make improvements on the offensive line and in the running game, they had better figure out how to find more consistency in their passing attack - most notably the connection between quarterback Ryan Tannehill and free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace. The next 10 games should be used to form more of cohesion of the two so the Dolphins will have...
Dolphins guard Richie Incognito threw his hat into the ring for Twitter’s weekly trip down amnesia lane, Throwback Thursday, and if you’re keeping score at home, Incognito totally won the day by posting a photo of himself from his halcyon grade school days…

The Dolphins have installed about 70 percent of the game plan for Sunday's home game against Buffalo but starting middle linebacker Dannell Ellerbe has had to sit out this week's practices.
Ellerbe sat out his second straight practice because of a shoulder injury he suffered in the Oct. 6 loss to the Ravens. The team's leading tackler worked with Dolphins trainers while...
DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins returned to work this week to get ready for the season's first AFC East game.
The Dolphins will be the last team in the conference to play a division opponent when they face the Buffalo Bills at Sun Life Stadium on Sunday.
"I think this is the perfect recipe coming off a bye week," defensive end Cameron Wake said following Wednesday...
Growing up a Miami Dolphins' fan some four miles from their home stadium, Thad Lewis spent most Sundays limited to cheering on Dan Marino and company from his living room.
''`Dan The Man,' we called him,'' the Buffalo Bills interim starter said this week, ''The Dolphins were always my team. But when you're a kid and your parents can't afford...

BY NICK ST. DENISThe Miami Dolphins' defense has been labeled by some as a bend-but-don't-break style unit. That bothers defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle."I hate that term, to be honest with you," Coyle told reporters Monday, via Dolphins.com. Through five games, the Miami Dolphins' defense has given up seven passing plays of 40 yards or more. The only two...

With Ryan Tannehill getting sacked at a record pace, the Miami Dolphins haven't been able to ease the pressure on their young quarterback thanks to a historically poor running game.
A matchup with the Buffalo Bills' porous run defense might help, though Miami has to contend with one of the NFL's top pass rushes.
Coming off a bye week following consecutive losses, the...
After back-to-back losses to the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens, the Miami Dolphins had Week 6 off.
