Lions defensive tackle Corey Williams is participating in his first practice since undergoing knee surgery recently. Williams had knee surgery on September 25 after injuring it this offseason. He was limited in practices prior to the surgery, and had been on the sidelines prior to today. However, Williams was fully participating in the first 30 minutes of practice media members were allowed to watch on Thursday. While Williams has returned, Lions safety Louis Delmas (knee), cornerback Bill Bentley (shoulder), cornerback Jacob Lacey (concussion) and defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch (non-injury related) are not participating in practice. Calvin Johnson accused Nnamdi Asomugha of flopping on an offensive pass interference call that erased his second touchdown of the season.

Riley Reiff is starting to earn high praise from the Lions organization

Riley Reiff still looks like a kid. He’s quiet and visibly nervous when he speaks with reporters. But that’s only off the field. On the field, it’s different. The Lions’ rookie offensive lineman is maturing before everyone’s eyes.In Sunday’s overtime win at Philadelphia, the first-round pick played 22 snaps on offense when he lined up at tight end in the Lions’ jumbo...

Report: Suh called police after accident

In football, they say the tape doesn't lie. The same can be said for 911 calls. Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has been accused of leaving the scene of an accident last week by the driver of the other vehicle, Steve Vines. Suh and Vines were involved in a fender-bender the morning of Oct. 11 near the Lions' practice facility in Allen Park. WJBK-TV, the...

Offensive, defensive lines step up for Lions

Its exciting to have playmakers at the skill positions like Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. They get the headlines, they sell the jerseys, they fill the stadiums. But, in the end, football is still about what happens in the trenches, and thats what has to be so encouraging for the Detroit Lions coming off their 26-23 overtime victory last Sunday at Philadelphia. Despite committing...

Ndamukong Suh says he wants to remain with the Lions

It’s not easy to get anything out of Lions DT Ndamukong Suh, but it seems like he wants to remain with the Lions when his contract is voidable after the 2014 season. Speculation about Suh’s desire to remain in Detroit arose when his sister and public relations manager Ngum Suh tweeted what initially looked to be a cryptic post on her brothers desire to stay with the Lions. Thank...

Suh's reputation takes more hits

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions bad boy Ndamukong Suhs reputation has gotten as nasty off the field as it is on it. Just last week: Suh was accused of sideswiping another vehicle near the Lions' practice facility, berating the other driver and leaving the scene of the accident (police closed the case without any arrests or tickets being issued). He got sued, along with...

Lions would love to start faster

(Eds: Updates. With AP Photos.) The Detroit Lions are averaging a little more than two touchdowns in the fourth quarter this season. Finding that same production before the start of the final period has proved elusive. The Lions (2-3) have scored 73 points in the fourth this season, trailing only Denver's 79, and both victories came after final-period rallies. Detroit scored...

Bear Breakdown: Analyzing the Lions’ Defense For Week Seven

When a team can put up the sort of offensive numbers that the Detroit Lions can, it is easy to ignore what they do defensively. So far in the 2012 season, the Lions defense is giving up an average of 324 yards of total offense, good enough for ninth best in the league. The strength of the Lions’ defense lies in its front four.  Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is still a terror...

Lions CB Jacob Lacey Only Active Player Sidelined At Practice

Lions cornerback Jacob Lacey was the only active player who did not participate in Fridays' practice. Lacey is recovering from a concussion, and the odds he will play against the Chicago Bears on Monday are decreasing. Lions cornerback Alphonso Smith or rookie cornerback Jonte Green will receive significant if Lacey is unable to play. Detroit defensive end Cliff Avril (back...

Lions DT Ndamukong Suh Made First 911 Call After Incident Last Week

It appears Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh did the right thing after all by making the first call to 911 when he was involved in a two-car incident last week on the Southfield Freeway. Suh called 911 at 6:28 a.m. Oct. 11 after the Range Rover he was driving collided with the 1999 Ford Escort that Stephen Vines, 43, of Livonia was driving. Vines called 911 at 6:29 a...

Ndamakong Suh Distances Himself From Sister's Tweet, Says He 'Loves' Being A Lion

Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh attempted to clear up speculation that he is counting down the days until he can join another team after his his sister and public relations manager, Ngum Suh, randomly posted, "Thank u Jesus! Only 2.5 more years! #Freedom" on Twitter Saturday. Many speculated she was referring to the amount of time left on her brother's contract...

Lions Brace for Bears' RB Forte

If one was struggling to locate a list of top running backs in the NFL they would only need to review the Detroit Lions schedule -- making the task of stopping Monday night's opposing running back Matt Forte a challenge, but not necessarily foreign.

Key Matchup: Bears’ Offensive Line Against Detroit’s Defensive Line

The Detroit Lions’ defensive line can scare opponents with its power and speed off the line. In two games in 2011, the Lions sacked Chicago Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler five times. Defensive end Cliff Avril racked up two sacks, while defensive end’s Willie Young and Lawerence Jackson combined for three sacks. The Bears did a solid job at containing defensive end Kyle Vanden...

Bears Guard Lance Louis Has Come On Strong, Gets Big Test versus Lions' Suh

Lance Louis has thus far been the most consistent offensive lineman on the team during the 2012 season.  Louis has been a solid run blocker and an even better pass blocker.  However to this point in the five games he's started he hasn't faced a player of the same caliber as Ndamukong Suh. Suh has been a dominant force since his arrival in the NFL.  He leads  the league...

Lions CB Jacob Lacey, DT Corey Williams Not Practicing

Lions defensive tackle Corey Williams is not participating in today's final practice before Monday's game against the Chicago Bears. Williams, who is recovering from knee surgery, did not practice this past Wednesday, but was on the field Thursday and Friday.
