Louis Delmas played 44 of 79 defensive snaps in Thursday’s 34-31 loss to the Houston Texans, but the Detroit Lions’ oft-injured safety didn't see the field in overtime because of soreness in his surgically repaired left knee. “It wasn’t conditioning, he was just sore,” coach Jim Schwartz said. “That’s just what happens over the long course of the game. It’s an artificial-turf game, he was flying around and things like that and just wasn’t able to finish.” Delmas, who has missed seven games this year -- the first four of the regular season after Aug. 7 surgery and three more this month after reinjuring his knee Oct. 28 -- had five tackles Thursday. Ricardo Silva spelled Delmas alongside Erik Coleman for parts of the second half and all of overtime. Silva was credited with two of his six tackles in overtime, including one on a defensive stand early in the extra period, when the Lions forced Houston to settle for a long missed field goal, and had one pass break-up. With extra recovery time, the hope is that Delmas can play when the Lions return to the field Dec. 2, against the Indianapolis Colts. Source: Detroit Free Press Attached Thumbnails

Jim Schwartz threw a penalty flag too early and cost his team 7 points against the Houston Texans

Jim Schwartz, the head coach of the Detroit Lions, threw a penalty flag after this play by Houston Texan running back Forsett who was done after a 7 yard game. However, the officials let the play continue. If Schwartz wouldn’t have thrown that flag, the play actually would have been reviewable. Instead of a 7 yard gain, it turned into 7 points. That’s just bad coaching. Will...

Mistake By Lions Coach Jim Schwartz Allows Texans' Bogus TD To Stand
