After two arrests in a month's time, the Lions have had enough of Aaron Berry.

Per the team's official site, Berry's contract was terminated on Monday due to “personal conduct which adversely affects the club.”

"We have repeatedly stressed to everyone in our organization that there will be appropriate consequences when an expected standard of behavior is not upheld," Lions president Tom Lewand said in a statement.

Berry, a third-year cornerback, was charged with three counts of simple assault on Saturday. Prior to that, he was busted in June for suspicion of DUI, joining a disturbingly long list of NFL players who've allegedly driven drunk this offseason.

Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010, Berry figured to enter training camp as a starter opposite Chris Houston, but his rap sheet ultimately forced the club to go in a different direction.

Though the 24-year-old can only blame himself for messing up a golden opportunity, he is likely to latch on elsewhere this summer. However, teams will think twice about adding a player who just can't stay out of the police blotter, no matter how talented he is.
