I would like to take this opportunity to nominate the Lions for the award of most entertaining team to watch. With them, there's never a dull moment. The Lions trailed the Eagles 13 to 23 with about five minutes left to play, but in classic fashion, they never gave up, and their late game efforts culminated with a Jason Hanson game winning field goal on the Lions' first possession of overtime, marking the first time this year a team has won an overtime game without winning the coin toss. The Lions, now 2-3, got a gasp of air they desperately needed to keep their season alive. At 1-4 and in one of the toughest divisions in football, a loss was simply out of the question if they wanted to continue to entertain postseason aspirations. The Lions biggest problem against Philadelphia was their continued discipline issues. The Lions ended the game with 16 penalties for a total of 132 yards stepped off. On the other hand, the Lions won the turnover battle, intercepting Michael Vick twice and recovering a snap that soared by Vick's head on an early snap. The Lions won't get a break from big games in the near future. They travel to Chicago on October 22 for a Monday night appointment with the Bears before hosting the Seahawks in what could be a tie-breaking matchup. [follow]
