If Jason Hanson can get a contract done, he will be back with the Detroit Lions for a 22nd season.
Mike Garafolo of USA Today reports Hanson has made up his mind to continue playing provided he can secure a contract.
The Lions had given Hanson time and space to make a decision after the season ended, making it clear they wanted him back. The club has held workouts in recent weeks but only to have a Plan B just in case.
Hanson connected on 32 of 36 field goal attempts last season, one of the finest years of his career.
