NFL Trade Rumors:
The Detroit Lions officially placed DL Jason Jones on season-ending injured reserve after it was determined that he has a torn patellar tendon.
The Lions signed Andre Fluellen to their roster on Monday to replace Jones.
Jones, 27, signed a three-year contract worth $9.5 million back in March. Jones offers great versatility, and adding him to an already formidable defensive line figured to cause a lot of mismatches for offensive units this season.
Detroit also signed Israel Idonije to a contract and drafted Ezekiel Ansah with their first-round pick, so they do have some depth to work with.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. - His job is probably on the line this year. His team was coming off a loss the previous week and trying to end a 0-21 drought in Washington.
So when a Hail Mary pass fell incomplete on the games final play, Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz reacted with a little attitude. A fist pump was immediately followed by Schwartz spiking his headset to the ground.

Every time the Detroit Lions seem on the verge of kicking their cursed, ill-fated ways, they find a way to shoot themselves in the foot again. The latest incident: starting receiver Nate Burleson will be out upwards of a month after breaking his arm in a single-car accident early Tuesday morning — one reportedly caused by Burleson allowing himself to become distracted when a pizza...
Detroit Lions wide receiver, Nate Burleson broke his arm in two places Monday night in a single vehicle car accident. Burleson had stepped out to pick up pizzas and was attempting to catch a box sliding out of the passenger seat in his black 2009 GMC Yukon when the crash happened.

Detroit running back Reggie Bush says he will play against Chicago in Week 4.Fantasy Spin:The Lions tailback tried to get the team to let him play this week, but they played it cautiously and made him inactive. Joique Bell did a good job as his replacement, rushing for 63 yards and a score and catching four balls for an additional 69 yards in the Lions win over Washington.
First, I need to make the case “pessimistic Lions fandom.”
There are some people out there who say that you’re not a “true” fan unless you believe your team is the greatest team, that they’ll win every game, and that to say otherwise is treason. Inevitably, if you say something negative about their team they get all hot under the collar and your own loyalty is called...
The Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush said that he would have played against the Redskins last Sunday, but head coach Jim Schwartz decided against having him suit up.“We have to do what’s right,” Schwartz said. “Every player’s competitive and every player wants to go out there and play. It is always something with the Lions.
The good news is no alcohol was involved.
