The Detroit Lions signed running back Reggie Bush to be a dangerous dual threat out of the backfield but through two quarters against the Cleveland Browns he hadn't done much of anything. At the half Bush had 14 rushing yards on seven carries and wasn't targeted once in the passing game. Part of the reason he wasn't more involved in the offense was because the Browns surprised the Lions with a different defensive look than Detroit expected. "They're a zone team on film and they come out here today and play Cover-1 the whole game" quarterback Matt Stafford said. During halftime offensive coordinator Scott Linehan called for an adjustment to the game plan. And it helped lead to a 31-17 Detroit victory. "We go in and coach Linehan has great adjustments for us" Stafford said. "He says 'Hey they want to play man coverage let's get Reggie Bush on (linebacker Craig Robertson). That's a great matchup for us.' We did it and he made...

The NFL needs to stop targeting players, Suh could be in trouble again

The NFL is worse than those traffic lights with cameras. This week the Detriot Lions played the Cleveland Browns and Ndamakong Suh did not have one personal foul or bad play. A matter of fact he was never even flagged in the game. Well according to Pro Football Talk that doesn’t matter. The NFL’s head […]

Looking At What The Detroit Lions Can Improve On So Far

The Detroit Lions have already matched their win total of their agonizingly painful season last year filled with numerous disappointments with four wins. The past is the past and there isn’t a need to rehash it, but the Lions definitely are in better shape right now through six games at this point in the season with a 4-2 record than the head-scratching 2-4 they were at last...

Lions have found some great targets in Kris Durham and Joseph Fauria

Kris Durham has filled the shoes of Nate Burelson. After catching three passes for 30 yards against the Packers last week, he had a career-best eight catches for 83 yards Sunday. Stafford’s former Georgia Bulldog teammate is starting to groove. “I’m definitely getting a rhythm,” Durham said. “I’ve been working a lot more with Matthew […]

Schwartz on Megatron's injury status: 'Too soon to tell'

ALLEN PARK, Mich. When healthy, Calvin Johnson rarely misses a play. It was a little different story Sunday in Cleveland. Because of an ailing right knee, Johnson was limited to 38 of the teams 74 offensive plays or 51.4 percent of the time. Over the first three weeks, before the knee became such an issue, he played in all but three of the 205 plays. This time, the Lions had...

Lions' Suh faces potential discipline from NFL

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is facing potential discipline from the NFL. The league is reviewing Suh's play against Cleveland. Suh led with his helmet when he hit Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden after he threw a pass in Sunday's game. The hit that wasn't penalized was shown on a video posted on on Tuesday as vice president of officiating Dean...

Lions WR Calvin Johnson active at Cleveland

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson is active and expected to start Sunday against the Cleveland Browns after missing last week's game because of an injured right knee. A final decision on his status was made following Johnson's pre-game workout on the field at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland. The Lions were held to nine points last Sunday without Johnson in a loss at Green...

Lions feasting on turnovers to reach 4-2 record

The Detroit Lions have 13 takeaways this season - three less than all of last season - and the defense isn't the only unit pleased with the performance. ''It's huge. Our whole defense has been making plays; every facet of it,'' quarterback Matthew Stafford said Tuesday. ''The d-line, the linebackers, the DBs - everybody is getting their hands on footballs...

Detroit Lions News – Stafford And Fauria Lead Lions Over Browns

The Detroit Lions went into Cleveland to take on the red hot Browns and left with a 31-17 victory, with the help of the Matthew Stafford to Joseph Fauria connection. Outscoring Cleveland 24-0 in the second half, the Lions were looking at a 17-7 deficit after having gotten out to a quick 7-0 lead in Sunday’s game. Fauria, who turned all three of his receptions into touchdowns, helped...

Joseph Fauria Collects 2 TDs vs. Browns

Lions tight end Joseph Fauria had a monster game Sunday against the Browns.Fantasy Spin:All three of Fauria's receptions went for touchdowns. Most weeks those end zone passes would have gone to either Calvin Johnson or Tony Scheffler but with both of them hurting, Fauria was able to have the game of his life. We wouldn't expect Fauria to be nearly as effective once Johnson...

Detroit Lions Tight End Joseph Fauria Just Want to Dance (and score)!

Few people outside of Detroit were aware of who Lions tight end Joseph Fauria was prior to Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. The undrafted rookie out of UCLA had only four catches for 32 yards and a pair of touchdowns--obviously not someone anyone is going to be paying attention to. So how better to get that attention than by breaking out some old school dance...

Joseph Fauria Is Dancing Again

Lions tight end Joseph Fauria has been quite the red zone specialist this season. He has five catches on the year and three of them have been touchdowns. The latest came in the first quarter today against the Browns. Even more than touchdowns, it’s the dancing has gotten Fauria attention. In Week 3, he scored against Washington and pulled a reference to *NSYNC’s “Bye, Bye,...

Fauria a hit with end zone dances

Joseph Fauria's choreographed end zone dances have earned him fans all over the Internet and even in Hollywood. That's not what impresses the Detroit Lions most. They are fondest of how the tall tight end can stretch a defense. The NFL's other 31 front offices might be wondering why he wasn't worth drafting earlier this year. The 6-foot-7 Fauria had three catches...

Lions win with big second half

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Matthew Stafford threw three of his four touchdown passes in the second half, rallying the Detroit Lions to a 31-17 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The Lions (4-2) outscored the Browns 24-0 in the second half, sealing their win when Stafford hooked up with tight end Joseph Fauria with 2:01 left. Fauria caught three TD passes for the Lions, who played...

DeSean Jackson, Joseph Fauria, and Mike Tolbert Audition for Dancing With the Stars After Scoring

Personally I do not see the appeal behind Dancing With the Stars; tried watching it once and I just couldn't see any good reason that the program was on television. A staple of the show seems to be having a current or former NFL personality on the program. Some of them have won, others have done well, and than there is Keyshawn Johnson (I don't watch; I might follow it.....
