Percy Harvin is as dynamic of a playmaker as there is in the NFL. But while he was expected to contribute to a decent chunk of the Seattle Seahawks’ passing offense this year, the Seahawks will have numerous options to replace Harvin’s production. “We have a lot of playmakers,” says Golden Tate, one of the players who should see an increased workload in Harvin’s absence. “So we are very excited, with or without Percy.” Tate and fellow wide receiver Doug Baldwin are two players who should see increased opportunity with Harvin out of the lineup. Tate had career highs in catches (45), yards (688), and touchdowns (7) last year while Baldwin led the team in catches (51) and yards (788) two seasons ago. Both have reportedly looked better than ever in training camp this offseason, and they seem motivated by the competition provided by team’s acquisition of Harvin. More of a sleeper candidate to take on a bigger role in a Harvin-less offense is rookie tight end Luke Willson. Although he pla...

You don’t miss what you never had: The Percy Harvin situation

When I read on Twitter that Percy Harvin had a sore hip, and might require surgery that could end his season, there was only one thing that came to my mind. Before I say what that was, here are some thing’s that I didn’t think. I didn’t think the Seahawks Super Bowl chances just went out the window. I didn’t think that this situation completely screwed the Seahawks chances...

2013 Seattle Seahawks Prediction: Part 2

Before I continue with the season predictions, I want to clarify that I do not believe  the Percy Harvin injury is that big of a deal. Even if he is out for the entire season the Seahawks will be fine. They were 11-5 last year without him, and that was with Russell Wilson only playing 9 games with the whole playbook at his disposal. Wilson will have the whole season with the playbook...

Sidney Rice played Madden with fans in Switzerland

Sidney Rice’s 20-minute Swiss knee procedure left just enough time for a quick game of Madden before heading back to Seattle. Rice, who left training camp last week for a non-surgical procedure in Zurich, Switzerland, made the day of a lucky Swiss fan when he showed up at his house for some barbeque and a game of Madden. Please click here to read this story.  The post Sidney...

James Carpenter tweaks knee

Here we go again. A promising prospect at guard for the Seattle Seahawks, James Carpenter has not yet been able to live up to his potential as he has finished each of his two NFL seasons on injured reserve. There are high hopes for him as a road-grating left guard this year, but an apparent knee injury in practice today could potentially derail a healthy start to the season. Danny...

Hawk Watch 2013: Top 5 Seahawks to watch in preseason

The Seattle Seahawks were once Super Bowl bound by analysts one moment, and one injury later has everyone doubting their ability to repeat. While it is true Percy Harvin will miss significant time this season due to a tear in his hip. That doesn’t mean the Seahawks are no longer one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, but that makes this preseason very important to build...

All-Pro center Unger the perfect fit for Seattle

Ask Max Unger about becoming the Seattle Seahawks' second interior offensive lineman to ever be named All-Pro, and he gives the typical answer about being honored for the recognition and that the success of those around him is the reason he was noticed. Ask Unger - a born-and-raised Hawaiian - about being selected to start in the Pro Bowl last season, and he becomes more thoughtful...

For The Seattle Seahawks, Losing Percy Harvin Is Not The End Of The World

Training camps for all 32 NFL teams have been underway for the last week, but not without the injury bug rearing its grotesque head: Jeremy Maclin (Eagles) out for season with ACL tear, Dennis Pitta (Ravens) out for season with a dislocated hip, Bryan Bulaga (Packers) out with torn ACL, Dan Koppen (Broncos) out for season and lastly, but certainly not least, Percy Harvin will...

Fantasy Football 2013: Why You Should Draft Seattle Seahawks Team Defense

It’s been a minute but i’m back and i’m ready to talk defense.  In past years (and even this year) you definitely have a guy or guys in your league that either takes a defense in the second to last or last round because they figure they can just get through the year picking up a new defense every week.  I’m not down with that.  Last year in standard scoring leagues the...

Camp Report: Five Players Flying Under the Radar

With training camp in full swing, the Seahawks had their first day of sloppy weather on the practice field Friday afternoon. That didn't stop the fans from filling the berm at VMAC and showing the regular amount of enthusiasm that's always prevalent with the 12th Man.  First impressions from this day of camp were a little unsettling - Zach Miller, Cliff Avril, and Bobby...

Percy Harvin’s injury a tough blow for Seahawks

When the Seattle Seahawks acquired wide receiver Percy Harvin from the Minnesota Vikings over the offseason, they hoped to be adding a dynamic playmaker that could put them over the top in the NFC. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, they’ll have to do with Harvin for the first half of the regular season after the wide out required hip surgery. Here’s Dr. Ray Solano’s take on...

Who will return kicks for the Seattle Seahawks?

Looking at the playing field Maybe the Seattle Seahawks shouldn’t have released Leon Washington… It’s starting to look that way following the news that Percy Harvin will be out for – at the very least – twelve weeks of action in the upcoming season. Just our luck, huh. Going forward the Seahawks have yet to name his replacement in the return game. That’s not to say they...
