Marc Bulger was one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL between 2002 and 2006 while playing for the St. Louis Rams. In that five-year stretch Bulger tossed the rock for over 16,000 yards, threw 95 touchdowns and he was even elected to two pro bowls (2003 and 2006).
The sky appeared to be the limit for Bulger, who was one of the rising stars in the NFL, but then the sky fell on “The Greatest Show on Turf,” and Bulger was turned into a punching bag for other defenses.
Constant pressure behind a terrible offensive line, and injuries caused Bulger’s quarterback rating to dip down into the 70-point range between 2007 and 2009, while during every other year in his career he had constantly finished with a rating of over 90.
