Back in March, Mario Williams broke the bank -- or, likely, a chain of banks -- when he agreed to a six-year, $100 million contract with the Bills. The deal, which included a whopping $50 million in guarantees, made him the highest-paid defender in NFL history.

Now that he's settled in the Buffalo area, Super Mario is putting some of that money to good use.

Per the Buffalo News, Williams dropped $2 million on the sumptuous mansion (pictured above) formerly owned by Kenneth Bernas, a disgraced lawyer who was sentenced to 2 1/3 to 7 years in jail for swindling 53 clients out of a total $3.1 million.

Williams and his fiancee spent an afternoon cruising around Western New York looking at prospective neighborhoods before settling on the 9,389-square-foot stone home, which has 6 1/2 bathrooms, "limestone, marble and cherry hardwood floors, detailed architectural touches and expensive mill work," among other features:

Built by Bernas in 2005, the two-story house includes a weight room, two laundry rooms, enormous walk-in closets, a bathroom with a whirlpool and white Greek columns, a spiral central staircase, fireplaces, floor-to-ceiling windows, a big modern kitchen, a two-floor library and study, and a four-car garage. The home is set on 10.2 acres.
