It seems Mark Sanchez has all but played his last down as a Jet.
After visiting with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday, Sanchez is likely to need season-ending surgery on his right (throwing) shoulder, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports.
It was reported by both ESPN and FOX Sports' Jay Glazer last Sunday that the Jets' embattled quarterback is dealing with a labrum tear and shoulder separation. Andrews' diagnosis simply confirmed as much.
If he indeed goes under the knife, Sanchez will be placed on injured reserve and miss the entire 2013 campaign. Owed a $2 million roster bonus next March, he can expect to be released shortly after the season ends.
