Matt Ryan is a native of Pennsylvania, who just so happened to decide that he would play football at Boston College. That’s not stopping actor Mark Wahlberg — who actually is from Boston — to think the Atlanta Falcons quarterback is one of his own. Deadspin points out that the actor created a video for members of the Atlanta Falcons, wishing them luck in this weekend’s NFC divisional playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks. Wahlberg, whose Boston roots and movies set in Boston may indicate he’d be a Boston sports fan, goes off the rails a little bit there. He goes on to say that he’d even root for the Falcons to beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. His reasoning, he says, is that Ryan is a “Boston boy.” Like we said, though, Ryan is a Pennsylvania native, whose only ties to Boston is that he played football on Chestnut Hill. Perhaps Wahlberg is being held hostage by that man in the Falcons jersey in the background who just sits and watches as Wahlberg addresses the camera. Check o...

Asante Samuel gives himself strange nickname

Atlanta Falcons cornerback Asante Samuel is calling himself "Swag 100" for the postseason because he says he's a playmaker.   "I'm swag 100% of the time," Samuel told USA TODAY Sports. "In order to have swag, you have to be balling -- doing your thing and making game-changing plays, like I've been doing." "It's all about being a...

Divisional Round: Seahawks at Falcons (Game Thread)

I've been hearing a lot about how the Falcons shouldn't be a problem for the Seahawks, but this game is far from a circled win.  I know Atlanta's schedule was relatively soft, but no one puts together a 13-3 record in the modern NFL without doing a lot of things right.  And as for them being 0-3 in the playoffs with head coach Mike Smith and quarterback Matt Ryan, that...
