During his chat with fans through the Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis was asked about cornerback Adam Jones and how he's largely improved as a player both on and off the field.

Adam has made tremendous strides in his personal life to a very caring father and his ability to share his wisdom with many young people about some of his missteps in the past. On the football field we're excited for him to make those same steps in maturity and discipline to play great snap to whistle football.

Despite having been suspended for actions that didn't result in any legal action, Jones has only been arrested once since 2007 and that was for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest last summer. Jones was one of several players (current and former) to speak during the NFL Rookie Symposium about the consequences one has to deal with when making stupid decisions.

As for the football side of things, Adam Jones has a favorable chance of making the squad, but we're not considering him a lock. He'll largely compete against guys like Jason Allen, Terence Newman, Brandon Ghee and Shaun Prater for a spot -- assuming that Leon Hall is healthy and Nate Clements and Dre Kirkpatrick complete the top-three on the cornerback depth chart.

If Jones struggles to make the squad as a cornerback there's always the path as a punt returner; a position that he's said earlier this offseason he intends to claim.
