It's never too soon to look forward to next week (especially after a division loss to the Jets). Matt Ryan will play his first regular season game in New England since he was drafted by the Falcons. Matt Ryan's first season was no fluke as Matt Ryan has showed he's here to stay. Ryan has thrown for 449 yards and 5 TDs in his first two regular season games in 2009. He found his new best friend Tony Gonzalez seven times in Week 2 against Carolina Panthers. Belichick might have a difficult time game planning for these guys. Matt Ryan found seven different receivers and Michael Turner rushed for over a hundred yards in Week 2. The Falcons are 2-0 on the season and Tony Gonzalez is obviously a key contributor to the Falcons offense. Look for Belichick to key on Gonzalez. Expect a big rebound game for the Patriots. This weeks focus: The focus this week should be on the defense still. Tom Brady will probably return to form after the first few starts I'm not extremely worried. He looked very "off" in his start against the Jets and rusty against the Bills. He took a year off so give the guy a break, it'll take a while to get back to form. The defense on the other hand played very well against rookie Mark Sanchez, they stuffed the run and held Sanchez to negative yards in the first half of Week 2. The Falcons have a lot of weapons on offense and Matt Ryan is going to be firing the ball a lot in his return to Massachusetts. I'm expecting a big game from Ryan, it's up to the Patriots new defense to show some new schemes and make Ryan uncomfortable, an extremely tough task.
